Seems the various chocolates/popcorn/peanuts/cakes/candy/cookies are taking over the office this holdiay season. Its a minefield of high calorie, and likely very tasty junk everywhere .  Staying away is not easy. Good luck everyone.

My employees know better than to bring that stuff around me.  Kinda nice actually.

I feel your pain.  Unfortunately I am very weak.  I can ignore the typical stuff that I have to avoid year-round.  It's the truly seasonal stuff that I have to have a taste of.  In years past I have limited myself to the things that I really can't have the other 11 months out of the year.  Then come Jan. 1 I have to really get serious again.  Good luck everybody!

A little is ok.  Sometimes having a little and showing restraint can make you feel good!

Also, what helps me is thinking that it's not going to taste nearly as good as I think it will/ as good as it looks.  The only exceptions I've found are the hardest to resist (but still have for a couple years): my wife's apple crisp and peanut butter bars and chocolate covered oreo/cream cheese balls...Tongue out

I've decided to embrace the "see food" diet...every food I see I eat.
It's been like this now since the beginning of October.
Eating lots of everything you want puts weight on.
I am a living, breathing science experiment.
I'm looking forward to January 1st.
...until then, time to grab some more ice cream tonight.

Think about how eating that junk will make you feel afterwards. When I see something REALLY tasty, I know it will give me pleasure for a short amount of time. However, I am also fully aware that for a much longer time after eating it I will regret doing so. That makes the "Do I want to eat this?" decision easy

That is mindful eating, and it gives me power over food.
