Subject: 29 degrees, snow, ice, and ran best race Overall I'm stoked on my performance for this 5K. I wasn't expecting a great time b/c the roads, trails and bridges were ice and snow covered...I figured I would just find an easy pace and try to stick with it and do my best not to fall. About a quarter mile into the race I hung with the FOP and was in 5th, legs were feeling really good. But then at .50 mile, I got lost on the trail, took a wrong turn and ended up doing an extra .10 miles to get back on track. Too much snow on the ground and not enough markers to guide me. Anyhow I kept pushing on, I finished 11th overall and 1st in my AG, final pace was marked at 7:06/miles. First time I did this kind of pace outdoors and in the snow no less. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured during the race, lots of falls, but nothing a cup of coffee couldn't fix. Thanks for letting me share! Edited by Tri-Fire 2010-12-18 11:24 AM
