Subject: Not a supplement debate: Your multivitamin recommendation?
See my log today for details, but the short story is that my doc has recommended I load up on specific vitamins to address a possible deficiency in my diet. A multivitamin seems to address the ones she wrote down: Vitamin D, Vitamin A, Copper, Zinc, B3 (Niacin), B12 and B6.

I picked up a Centrum Women's variety but have heard some opinions that this brand is not the best quality. After I finish this bottle, I'm looking for some recommendations on quality (but affordable) multivitamins.

Got anything for me?
No debates please.

I keep hearing that Costco brands are some of the best.  I've never heard a counter to that argument.

I am a fan of Optimum Nutrition and I think they have a good multi:

this and Controlled Labs' product is very good as well.  You also get some joint supplementation here.

I've also heard good things about Anavite from Gaspari Nutrition.

I am a little older than you, but I have been on the GNC Ultra Mega vitamins for several years.  I supplement with magnesium, calcium and lutein (for the eyes).   I use the Bone Density version because my family has a history of osteopenia/osteoporosis.

I rarely get sick.  I always have lots of energy.  They work very well for me.

About a month ago, I switched to taking them at lunch.  I forgot to take them for about 3 out of 7 days and I really noticed a difference in the way I felt.  That reconfirmed for me that they were still doing their job.

I won't go in GNC because their prices are outrageous, but I do hear their multi is quality.

@uhcoog

I'm a gold card member and I stock up when they run a sale, so it's not too bad.  I've tried others that are less expensive, and some that are more.   These work for me, so they are worth it.  It took a lot of experimenting to get it right.

BTW, I assume you are a UH grad.  My daughter got her degree from there and she lives in Cypress.  What a coinkdink.

I use Women's One a Day. I took a nutrition course while I was completing my kinesiology degree and it had recommended vits/mins and ammounts of each that should appear in multivitamin formulas for various ages and sexes. According to the list One a Day was a very good match for women under 50. I assume their 50+ vitamin would be good as well. (I am not guessing at ages, just discussing the item.) Sorry I don't have those details available to me at the moment so that other brands can be examined.

I just take the Target brand pre-natal vitamin.  I need the extra iron and my doctor recommended the pre-natal formula over others.
