Nicest Sunday we've had in a long time. Except for the glare in my eyes, caused by that strange yellow ball in the sky, it was a perfect day for a nice long run...

Nope, I did my bike ride yesterday afternoon in the driving winds and pouring rain.  The wind was so strong in some areas that I felt like I was crawling.  It was quite an experience.    Very glad that I was riding my road bike and not the commuter.

I unfortunately had my bike in the shop for some maintenance -- new chain, etc.  I wanted to get the tune up out of the way before Chilly Hilly, so of course the sun came out.

Lisa and I went on a hike to Snoquero Falls instead, to take advantage of the nice weather. Nice weather, nice hike, nice views.

I was assigned to a job in Everett, 60 miles each way plus OT. Six days/week. Budget good, I know so many pray for this. But really bad for training. Got a slow 5K in and was happy I could do that. New job at a new company starts next Monday, time to rebuild.

I had a great training weekend.  Swam and a 2.5 hour ride on Saturday (before the storm), and a 90 minute ride and 9 mile run in the sunshine yesterday.  I love when the weather is nice!  The scariest part was riding across I-90 when the winds had really picked up on Saturday, 40 mph gusts, it was nuts.  But I survived.

Wow. Thats quite a weekend. You have an IM this year?

I hate riding in the cold so I did 1:25 on the trainer in the comfort of my living room. Did get some sun while in the hot tub mid-afternoon.

No, not doing IM!  But, I am doing an IM training plan for now, trying to loosely follow it--mostly to get the bike miles in, and to be prepared for 2 half marathons this spring.  I don't get close to the swimming volume.  I have a "big" bike ride in July (RAMROD) that needs a ton of T.I.T.S. so that's what I do on any given day when it is not raining.    However, I managed to screw up my back this weekend, so am heading in for chiro/ART this afternoon to see if I can get a handle on it before it becomes chronic.  My hubby thinks I am secretly plotting to do IM--which I am NOT!!!  I just like training.  Is that so wrong?  I *might* do HIM in September if I feel like it, but am not focusing on it as my *A Race* this year.
