Subject: To drain or not to drain?
On my long run tonight I developed blood under the nail of my 2nd toe.  I was able finish my run but now its pretty painful.  I am two weeks away from my first A race of the year, a half mary.  My question is do I drain the blood or leave it alone?

Here's one method. I use an 18g beveled needle and drill the hole, rather than the method shown. I think the whimpering is dubbed in for added effect, lol.

Heal fast.

Subungual hematoma,

I would drain for immediate relief.

My rule of thumb for blisters and black toenails is if it hurts I drain it. If not I leave it alone. After draining be sure to use antibiotic ointment and keep it dry and protected.
