Will someone tell me where you are going to be? I don't know about the Tavern or the running trails that you are all talking about.  Thanks!

wavedog - 2011-03-17 8:27 PM 10am at the Tavern on the Sunday! Shorter runners will be drinking more. Taller runners will also be drinking more.

Well stated.  I will be @ the Tavern around 10- it's located here:

http://maps.google.com/maps/place?hl=en&rlz=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=tavern+lowry&fb=1&gl=us&hq=tavern+lowry&hnear=Centennial,+CO&cid=12878139846710407176

If we get 1/2 the peeps that are planning on it to show, I think it'll be fun.  My vote- let's just say "we're all working out in the Lowry area for a while, and the rendezvous point will be The Tavern".  Forget times, what you're doing, and how far.  I'm going to be there and looking forward to it.  Old friends and new, I've still not met someone on this site I didn't like in real life.  See you all somewhere between 10AM and noon.  And I might even bring my bike just to keep it interesting.

I'll now be a 'maybe' for this one...we're doing some system upgrades starting @ 5pm tonight, that should finish sometime Saturday night...but might go into Sunday.  The joy of IT admin Undecided

As someone who had their entire week destroyed when IT admin decided to "run a process" at 11:30 on Tuesday that was supposed to take 2 hours and instead took 5+ I appreciate that you are willing to do it in non-prime business hours.

I'm in the condos right across from the town center. My little guy isn't really all that little anymore...almost 5, but he still willingly rides in the Chariot. I would love to have a running buddy in the neighborhood!

Yeah! That'd be great.  My kid is 18 months, and giggles when I roll over curbs.  Its funny.

Anyway.  Hope to see you all on Sunday!

Questions...I don't know that area at all so is the path close to the tavern we are meeting at? Also is the trail paved or gravel and are there bathrooms/port-a-potties on the trail?

Well, like I said, I don't really know the Westerly Creek Dam trail at all, but I do know there are restrooms over that way in the park. As for the Highline, it is paved in this area, but you can easily run alongside the pavement on dirt. No bathrooms along the Highline in this section, unfortunately. It's about a mile from the Tavern.

Let me see if this will work; at least the link should take you to my garmin connect page and there's a map you can zoom in on.  This is a run I did along the dam this week.  The big green area is the dam, and the sports park is along Sports Blvd.  The Lowry Town center is to the west of the dam, intersection of Quebec and 2nd Ave. The dam is gravel/dirt and you can hook up with some other running paths through the neighborhood.  To get to Highline Canal trail, I run south along Fairmount St, cross Alameda and head towards the cemetary - the canal runs past the cemetary.  The bike I did last weekend, also on my garmin connect page, shows how I got from Lowry to Highline then on down to Cherry Creek Res.

Ok, so I'll have to linky...  let me know if I just confused everyone even more!

Thanks for the answers Gaye and Daisy. The map helps a lot. Will those of us, ok me, who can be some what directionally challenged be able to find our way from the tavern to the path and back on our own? I would really like to get in about 10 miles but not know where I am will make it more difficult if I don't do an out and back type run. I would love to try and keep up with some of you, but being quite slow not sure if that will happen for a full 10 miles.

I'm really gonna try and make it tomorrow.   Gonna try to do a short run today and see how my shins are doing.   If they are ok, i'll come along for the run but run slower.

And my wife is hoping to get off early and meet at The Tavern as well.

I created a route   Hope this helps...  Should also be able to search "Tavern" w/in Denver and it should pop up.  But to get 10 miles, you'll basically run from the Tavern to Highline and turn around where Highline meets with the Cherry Creek Trail.  Its a nice route, though I've only biked it, not run it.

Ok, went for a light jog and my legs feel great so i wanna meet for the run tomorrow.

I've never been to the area so i'm gonna try and get there about 0930 just to make sure i don't get lost.   Looking forward to meeting everyone and some Tavern afterwards.

See all of you there later- I was struck with a migraine and I'm waiting for the Excedrin to kick in.  Hopefully there around noon, I'm easy to spot @ 6'6.
