I'm in the same boat. Wave 15. Last wave.

Hopefully I can lose another 12 pounds by next July and I won't register as a Clydesdale anymore. I'm so tempted to request that I be placed in the 35-39 Wave.

It screws up your warmup, nutrition, etc. Not to mention the hotter temps that we will be racing in from 9AM to 10AM.

Because transition closes at 7:10AM we can't even bring shoes with us to go for a run. I think I may bring an old thow-away pair that I can use to do a run warmuo before heading down to the Swim Start around 8:10 or so...I'll run from 7:45 or 7:50 until 8:10, stash my sneaks somewhere and then head to the Swim Start to get in a 15 minute swim warmup and a gel.

I guess it would not of really made a difference for me. My AG is the start before. So I am screwed either way.

However...the last wave has it's perks.

1.You'll have your pick of the port a potties
2.Since you start out last you won't get passed much...great for the self esteem!

The transition managers will be told to be flexible with people coming in and out of transition as they wait for their wave. We'll clear it at about 7:20 (I know, it says 7:10 but it takes until about 7:20 to get everyone out). As long as there aren't a ton of people going in and out they will allow people in there. If it gets out of control they will shut down access because it will affect the race of others.

Second to last wave here as well.  Weather looks awful - hazy, hot and humid!

What's the deal with the swim start?  Is it a running beach start? How chaotic has it been in past years?

Just did a long bike ride yesterday from the parking lot where our transition will be. The lot was recently resurfaced which made the pavement a lot smoother..... but the heat melted tar spots to the point where they were boiling ozzing patches. Hope its not that bad next weekend cause my bare feet won't like that!

Looks like 90+ degrees for Saturday. Great. Big man no likey the heat. Nor the humidity.

Swim start is a floating start, if you want it to be. Or you can stand anything from akle to chest deep and be about 20 yards from the starting point.

There is only one turn on the sprint swim. It's a left turn, so if you start out to the right, you should have less traffic to deal with.

And add me to the late waves, #14, M40-44, but hey, I could have registered as a Clydesdale and been in Wave #15.

Wave #11, Athena, here! <wave>  First tri and totally nervous.  Looks like it's gonna be brutally hot, but still looking forward to a fun day.  I'm racing for NF Endurance (fundraising for the Children's tumor foundation)

geez, the weatherman keeps making it hotter and hotter on Saturday. Now forecasting 99 degrees for Saturday with HUGE humidity to boot.

Most importantly, I hope the race starts on time this year and we don't have to endure rising temperatures waiting for a late start like last year.

good gawd! lordy lordy!

I remember it was nearly 90 degrees at 4AM last year on the way to Mercer County Park. I guess we're gonna have the same thing this year.

Newbie Q - if you have a later start time - is there a place to warm up in the swim before your wave?

Temp should be right around 81 or 82 degrees by 7:30AM (Race Start) on Saturday.

83 degrees by 8:00AM.

85 degrees by 9:00AM.

87 degrees by 10:00AM.

I start at 8:40 (84 degrees?). Finish the swim/T1/Bike in about 40 minutes (9:20AM) and start run around 9:20 (86 degrees?). Finish run by 9:35 or 9:40 (86/87 degrees?).

Seems as if we should just squeeze in the race before we hit 90 degrees! Although it will still be very humid.

I just decided to stay overnight near the race instead of getting up at 3:00am like I did last year.

Anyone have any suggestions of a local hotel? It can be economy or a nicer hotel. I don't really have a preference. I just want to be fairly close to the race site and I'm not familiar with the area at all.

Thanks

please, please, please let the race start on time this year. a 20-30 minute delay at the start will make the later waves SUFFER. (and I'm going to suffer enough as is)

There are no hotels immediately near the park but any of them are better than having to get up and leave your house at 3am.  That's why I love this race as it is right in my backyard basically.  Doing it as a relay this year with my husband and one of his co-workers.

There are several hotels in the area, including two listed on CGI's website -  http://newjerseystatetri.cgiracing.com/EVENTINFO/WheretoStayWhattoDo.aspx

You also have the Hilton Garden Inn which is   http://www.hiltongardeninn.com/en/gi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=TTNHLGI

You can do an internet search for hotels in/near West Windsor, NJ or near Hamilton, NJ.  I live in Hamilton.  If you need any more info or want my opinion on any of the hotels,  just let me know or send me an email

Anyone see a list of bib numbers yet?  I know waves are up but like to know my bib number before I get to the park.

I am actually working at the packet pick up tomorrow afternoon so it is not really a big deal - see some of you then!  Make sure you are hydrating now!

Thank you for the information! Just booked one of the ones from the CGI website.

Good luck to you and your relay team. Let's hope it doesn't heat up too much before we're done!

Where are the race results?! I'm surprised they have not been posted yet.

Other than this, nothing to complain about. Great race. Very well organized.

But I do want to see my splits already!
