Saturday's almost here and the weather seems to be looking worse and worse.  Hoping for the best though. Please no wind! I can deal with the cold and rain/snow, but no wind.

What weather service are you looking at?

Have the wind speeds changed throughout the week? I've only been looking at highs/lows and those haven't budged, but it currently looks like the wind might get up to 14mph, which will be noticeable.

I've been watching the Weather Channel and checking iwindsurf.com for the wind predictions for the Detriot area.  You're right it looks like it should be around 14mph

Hope you all have a great day and the weather looks like it may hold off for the most part, just a bit chilly with a breeze.

Did the Martian RD post this somewhere? Didn't see it on their site.

Funny story -- I was out leading the half on the bike... going out, my bike computer was within 0.05 miles at every mile marker.  Then, after about 5 miles, I switched over and started viewing elapsed time to try and calculate how fast this guy was running (like 5:10 pace -- crazy!).  After about 8 miles, I switched back to mileage and was about the 0.3 miles off and just about started freaking out on the bike... how could I have made a wrong turn on an out and back?!

That definitely was not planned.  Sounds like they didn't put the turnaround in the right spot when they set up on Sat morning.  At least they're working to get everyone adjusted 13.1 mile times based on pace.

It's on their Facebook site and on the results page of the half it shows Actual Distance = 13.4 miles.

Oh cool! I noticed that the results listed our paces correct, with the extended distance. I thought that was funny, since the paces didn't match the 13.1 distance. Glad they made that correction, rather than leaving it alone, and letting everyone just think they were slower

Thanks for posting this. Quote from their FB page:

"You are correct, the half course measured long, at 13.4 miles. We have no idea how the turn around got there, but we overheard you say some crop circles were spotted in the area. The results will be posted to reflect the pace you ran for 13.4 and we're working on getting you a time for 13.1 based on that pace. Please be patient with us, it's been a long trip back to Mars."
