Good luck to those that will be competing in the 70.3.

I swam on the Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain on Sunday. The swells were 3 to 4 foot high and it was a tough swim for me.

The weather this weekend is expected to be near perfect, in the uppers 70's with lots of sunshine. Hope you all enjoy the race and subsequently the city and surrounding areas.

Ouch, hope it calms down.  Looking like it may not be wetsuit legal and 3-4 chop would make for a very tough swim.  Oh well, not much you can do.

Good luck!

It would have to heat up 6 degrees to make it not wetsuit legal.  Hoping it even cools down a little bit!

As long as the winds remain southerly the swim should be fine I would think.

Thanks, if you see me wave.  I will be the one with the black wetsuit (hopefully) coming out of the water and I ride a black bike.  Shouldn't be hard to spot me...Smile

My current plan is to go down today to get my packet and possibly swim.  I coach my daughters softball team and we have team pictures and a game tomorrow so will be heading down tomorrow around 6pm.  From there I have a room at a La Quinta inn and will spend the night.  I plan to get to transition early to get a parking spot and hang out.

My race number is 1814 and I will be wearing my orange and white BR Tri top and most likely blue with white stripe Orca tri shorts.

Anyone have info on the where they are moving the swim to?  I am assuming that means the bike and run will change also?

Well, I guess we all know how the race went on Sunday.  Another bust of a swim!  Lucky for me I was on a relay team and had the run leg.

Word is, they are moving the swim to a near by harbor where some of the old casinos used to be.  It's the same place the 5150 will be in June, hopefully it will work out in the future.

How's was everyone's race?

My race went well.  Hit my goal time for the bike and same for the run.  I was struggling towards the end on the run but overall I am very happy with my race.  Over on ST they had a google (or maybe mapquest) link where the swim may be.  If its right the area is a little small and swimning 1928+ meters will be interesting.

The $150 offer for 2013 is very tempting.

I agree.  I am definitely using the $50 discount for Austin in October.  New Orleans next year is doubtful, but you never know, $150 is a helluva deal.

I am considering Austin also but I am doing Big Cajun Oly the weekend before and am really aiming at doing well there.  Probably be there on a business trip so may try to find a relay team to get on as my swim and bike will be okay my run will not.
