Sorry to hear the bad news, but on the bright side it's a fresh start and the age thing is overrated anyway. Keep up your chin.

Change is always scary.  And change after 14 years is very scary!

But as long as you have your bike health, you'll be fine!

Hey, I'm with you on this one.  My husband moved out this week and this is my first weekend without my 4 babies. But we are also getting along better now than we did together and are developing a new kind of appreciation for one another.  The anger and resentment are gone and we both feel so relieved.  It's been a very postive experience so far.

I feel like someone turned the lights on in parts of my brain -the parts that can get me in trouble

Good luck and PM me if you want.

Jessica

because......
OR

Does my life ROCK right now because.........

1) It's my birthday and I am turning 42 (but look 30 and feel fabulous)
2) My husband of 14 years and I are calling it quits. (and getting along better than ever)
3) My comfy life as I know it is going to change. (and I am pretty excited about it)

I do get to keep my bikes and my new bike rack, you know the Xterra!  That's all that really matters right?

Definately focus on this. In your free time you get to train and enjoy your new bike rack without worrying about him (and fighting with him)!

EMBRACE CHANGE. Set a new goal. A distance or race you've never done before. Century, double century, whatever tri length you haven't done and think to yourself "I would have never done this if I were still with him. I am MUCH better off."  You'll be amazed about how good you feel about yourself.

Divorce the best thing that can happen to a marriage that is not working in the most painful way possible. There are days you are going to be half empty and days you are going to be half full. Unfortunatly those days are not going to be half empty on only number 1 and 2 but on numbers 1-3. the good news is there are going to beb great days and the great days will start to outnumber the suck butt days and pretty soon you are rocking all alone and discovering you and then you do things you could not do in a marriage that was not the best thing for you and your ex and there ya go!

As for turning 42. I have no advice at all. I am doing it, against my will, in December and I am NOT looking forward to this at all. I don't handle birthdays with grace and that is a HUGE understatment. With tantrums and tears and non acceptance of wrinkles yes, but not grace.

The only thing you have control over in this situation is your attitude, so I vote for ROCK!

Choose those three.  They are more positive and although it's toughter to be positive than negative when crap hits the fan, it turns out to be better mentally.

Will say a prayer that your changing life will turn out for the BETTER!!!

Happy birthday to both of you!!!!

Something in the air, indeed. I'm getting divorced, too-- next Tuesday, in fact. I really like your take on the whole thing--you do rock!

I left a year ago, and it's for the best. Everyone is happier, and my son doesn't have to grow up seeing that. And it's true, I probably never would be doing this tri thing if my marriage hadn't ended. It's been an eventful year, and mostly in a good way. The times, they are a changin'

And besides, you have bike and a nifty bike rack! Life is good.

I was wondering where you had gone these past few weeks.

Sorry to hear about you and the hubby.  But it sounds like you're starting a new chapter in life, and that is exciting.

You do look fabulous for 42!  Zac even thought you belonged a few age groups younger when he met you.

Yeah, you’d better keep the bikes because we’ve still gotta climb Mt. Lemmon!

Wow... sorry to hear that
Hang in there, it WILL get better (because you already found the positive side).
The truth is it will sucks sometimes and it will rocks sometimes. It is going to be an emotional rollercoaster.
Gook Luck, I hope everything gets better soon.
