Pre-race routine:

Woke-Up @ 5:30 ate breakfast. Arrived at race site by 7:00 and got setup.
Event warmup:

Warmed up by stretching really well. My back was really stiff and I needed to stretch out.
Swim
  • 08m 25s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 49s / 100 yards
Comments:

Horrible swim. Don't think I did anything right. Went out the first 25 too fast. Couldn't get back to swimming. It was very bad showing.
What would you do differently?:

I am at a lost about what I could have done differently. I am back to needing a coach/master swim class.
Transition 1
  • 01m 22s
Comments:

Shirt stuck as I tried to get over my head. But over all I think it was pretty good. Felt faster than it was according to the clock.
What would you do differently?:

Tape GU to bike instead of placing in helmet. Need to look at getting atri shirt instead of trying to put on a shirt.
Bike
  • 47m 22s
  • 14 miles
  • 17.73 mile/hr
Comments:

Pretty good ride. The course was hilly but I was able to maintain pace and cadence.
What would you do differently?:

Not worry about Garmin and just take off.
Transition 2
  • 01m 23s
Comments:

Unclip my shoes before getting to the dismount line. Able to run barefooted and get started easily.
What would you do differently?:

Ensure that I mark my rack. Went to the wrong rack.
Run
  • 20m 55s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run. Very good pace. Ran really comfortable. Left a lot in the tank at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Run harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk with JC to slow down heartrate.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to swim better.

Event comments:

Great race. I will be back next year.

Your bike will catch up to your run with time and if you can just manage the swim you will have some serious fast finishes.  Plenty of speed on the run already!  Congrats on the finish and go find a masters class to work on your swim.

You clearly shine in the run. That's a tough run course and you smoked it! I'm a terrible swimmer too. I'm taking a swim clinic in July from OSB Multisport. The bike will take care of itself with more time in the saddle.
