LOL...you're too much!!

I really do think last year I put absolutely everything I had into that bike leg. I averaged 21.6 mph...I'm seriously doubting I can come close to that again. I'm really figuring my bike is probably going to be at least 3-5 minutes slower. Hopefully though that will improve my run (I always say that but it never happens). Last year I had to walk for a minute or so near that final aid station. I'm hoping for 1:03 on the run which would offset losing 4 minutes on the bike. Maybe I can swim faster. I can't figure out why I was so slow on the Timberman run...I didn't do anything all day except hang around for 9 hours (doh!). But it's got me thinking that my run will not be that great.

I'll be listening for footsteps! LOL

C'mon May!!!! Think about it - Its VERY simple how to beat Max.  NO handicap needed!

You KNOW how Max likes to chat - especially with the femAHHHninas

All ya have to do is find a hot chick  (well, semi-hot chick or maybe just a chick.  OK, OK a drag queen will do) to start the run at the same time as Max.

He of course, will start talking to her. Have her gradually slow the pace - He'll NEVER know! Maybe she can throw in a fake cramp and ask him to rub it for her. That'll give you as much time as you need.  She could even lead him off course, but then THAT would give him an excuse!

BTW, I think y'all are BOTH sandbaggin!  Max, you had me by THIRTY minutes halfway thru the bike at LP! (Not that thats a major accomplishment, lol)

OK, I made up a sign with everyone's name one it that's planning to be at Cranberry. Check it out on the other Cranberry thread. If you're not on the sign and you plan to be there, let me know and I'll add you to it! I'll have markers with me at the race too.

who are you kidding about DFL? I finished 50 in a field of 58 and one DNFed. I think you will all be waiting for me. I also have a sign and a new visor with BT.com on it.

Warning: this is a gratuitous statement meant to make anyone who finishes DFL feel better;

The thing about finishing DFL is if you start in an early wave, it doesn't feel like DFL since there are still people finishing "after" you...even though they have a time adjustment!

Ahhh, to hell with where we all finish...let's all sit down at the BBQ and have some chicken and shoot the breeze with new friends. That's what this is REALLY all about!

Finally a voice of reason, or resonalbe insanity. BTW I have made my sign so a shirt can slide over it to have it signed, So keep that in mind when you get your race shirt.

Hear, hear! I got your back on that max! I've met some very wonderful peeps on here and developed some lasting friendships. I'm all about keeping it fun, and calculating how late it can be before I have to stop drinking post-race celebration to be legal for work...

Lets see..."8 hours from bottle to throttle" (or is it 8 feet bottle to throttle?)

My last sip has to be at 12:05. If I start my swim at 8, finish roughly at 11.....I'm good for probably 2 beers. 4 if someone brings a beer bong.

AND NO, I DON'T WORK FOR NORTHWEST OR AMERICA WEST

At least I don't put red wine in my Platypus reservoir. (Max!)

Or you could load up your bike water bottles with beer and REALLY get a head start! That would be quite the sight on the run course...with all your staggering around, you'd turn that 10-K run into a 10 miler!

This thread is too funny! I can't wait to meet you guys. I met Max already a couple of times (briefly though) and he seems a hard core Triathlete, plus he is an IM finisher. In the other hand I'd followed May's training logs and she has awesome improvements throughout the year... This is a tough one!

Anyone has inside information so I can know where to bet my money?

Yeah Baby!  My money is on TAGP....but thats just because shes going to pass Max in the last minute on the run, and Max will be too busy enjoying the view to think about the fact that he should be trying to get to the line first!

I'll just have to be coming into the finish line after the run when May is heading out of T-2. That should be enough of a lead!

LOL! Good Saturday morning....just a few minutes shy of 27 hrs from the start of my swim wave at CC...

Thanks for the votes of confidence, as well as the ones for max (to get me motivated!). All I can say is that regardless of the weather conditions, and any unforseen equipment malfunctions, I'm gonna try (can't say I've ever red-lined it) to go all out as this is my LAST 2005 triathlon, and have fun doing it! No excuses!

I succeed if I puke at the finish and go all out, and cut at least 5 min off of 2004 (ultimate goal is to go :15 faster). Conversely, I fail if I end up in the medical tent, regardless of IV.

As for my 1976 avatar, it's gonna go back up, but am waiting til those other BT members are done with their cheerleader avatar thing - dunno what that's about. Crazy Cartoon Girl was my motivator to get the Timberman 1/2 DONE!

Things are not looking good for me here in the confidence department. I would resort to cheating, but that's not my schtick. I recall a certain tanned female who, earlier in the year, took a "short cut" on a 75 mile ride and then beat me to the finish but claimed to have ridden all of the correct route. Hmmm....

  • Uh oh... Things are gettin' dirty now!

I don't know which of you will beat the other... All I know is that you're both going to beat me! So, all I ask is that you save me something to eat at the BBQ because I'm going to need it!

I'm STOKED for tomorrow and really looking forward to meeting you crazy folks!
