Any clubs or individuals up in the North Scottsdale area?  Complete newb to triathlon, solid runner, thinking it would be nice to have someone to train with from time to time.  I'm just north of DC Ranch area, Pima and Pinnacle Peak to be exact.

One Multisport is based out of The Village at DC Ranch. Check them out on the web.

That's the one I heard of, just couldn't remember the name.  Perhaps a silly question but are they newb friendly?  I've never joined a club (well there was that WOW club a few years ago) so what is typically involved?  Membership fees?  Secret handshake?  Orientations involving bowling balls and rope?

Cheers!

The people at One Mulitsport are good folk.  I have not ridden with them as of yet, but have talked with many of them, and they have all different ranges of skill.  They will push you, I can almost guarantee that.  But that is a good thing.

They are very friendly folks and have people of all different levels in their club. They do have an elite division of the club that takes things very seriously and training with them could be very challenging. I think the annual dues are $60 plus all the race kits and stuff. They are very active in the local tri scene and would be a great club to join in your neck of the woods.

I am also new to TRI... and hoping to join the Oct 2 event in Bartlett lake. I trained by myself and also looking for a training partner from time to time. I will join the Firecracker event just to get my feet wet on this multisport. The open water concerns me because I have no experience doing open water swim. I am looking for a swim buddy for an open water and maybe train with other discipline as well.

I'm not quite at a level where I want to jump into OWS just yet but I'm always up for a run/ride partner.  I'm planning on joining John and the guys over at OneMultisport for some rides and OWS practice.  Their membership is closed but they are open to anyone dropping in and joining them.  John seems pretty cool and I heard nothing but great things about One when I was at Landis this weekend.

Don't know if the time would suit your schedule but sksharp and myself swim out in Saguaro Lake Wed evenings. we usually start between 5:00 and 5:30. We are both new to the game as well and I have an 800 meter swim July 17th so I'm stressing a bit. My first adventure in Tempe Intl was a challenge.. Let me know if your interested. Mike

Bartlett Lake (Rattlesnake Cove is real close to you) every Tuesday myself and a friend do a run6.2/bike24.2/swim 1760 yards. We start early 5:30am and do the tri in reverse due to the heat. Just send me a PM if intrested. We usually have swimmers meeting up with us at approximately 10am just for the swim. June 28th will be our last workout until we start up again on July 26th. I have a race 10-2 with TriFamily and doing the olyp distance. I will be trianing through the summer for it.
