Alright people let's get talking! There are 16 of us signed up so it's chattin' time...I hear 54 has been paved! Is it really true? Would also like to see everyone's water temp prediction for this year.....this cold rainy week is absolutely going to kill us...I'm going with an even 60.

You guys are way too optimistic! The Lake froze this winter (something that doesn't happen every year) and its been an unusually cold spring.. I say 55!

Hey Dr. Bob "Score This" just sent an email and they are saying it's up to 57 degrees already!

Yah, I got that email too, but the graph on the website for the race has the temp back down to 52 today from 57.  I'll take 60.

I just read that email too, man I hope we can get 60! I just remember it was 61 two years ago and I think we had a much nicer spring, but we will see soon enough.

Either way, I'm really excited about the newly paved 54, that was one of the reasons I skipped out last year.

We have some 80 degree weather heading our way next week so it is going to warm up quick. Also the 52 degree temperature measurement is taken 20 ft deep. So my prediction is 68 degrees. At least that is what I keep telling myself !

We all can only hope the lake gets warmer. Although I think the coldest swim I've had was in Lake Ontario in August when the lake turned over that morning. That was brutal... 60's would be very welcome.

I saw the e-mail about it being 57 and figured they measured it within a half inch of the surface on one of the few sunny days last weekend.  A friend I work with has a cottage on Keuka and he checked the temp last weekend when they were putting their docks in and at 12 inches it was still in the 48 degree range.

But, a week of 70 degree weather is supposedly heading our way so with any luck we will race at 60 or above!

I too am looking forward to hitting the "new" 54...I've lost water bottles and flat kits (had to stop, turn around and get them) and fillings on that darn road.....

Super excited to do this race again this year. Had a blast last year...even though the water was cold, the road was bumpy...and it rained! I don't know what the water temp will be, but lets hope it is at least 60!!!

Hopefully it will warm up a little more. I raced in Florida back in Janurary, water temp was 59, felt warm though since the air temp was 36!! Looking forward to this race, heard lots of good about it!

Latest e-mail says the water is at 53 right now. If it doesn't get to 60 by race day they will be shortening the swim distance for all races. Why do we live in New York again?

I don't know how accurate this reading is but this graph shows a big jump in water temperature today to 61 degrees. If this is the case and the warm weather we have coming next week we should be well over 60 degrees.

It's not that bad. This will be my 7th year doing Keuka Lake and I've always had feeling return to my hands and feet by the time I got off the bike.

Spent today at my bosses cottage at Keuka. Did 500M swim, 15Mi Bike and a a lil over a mile run.   Water was pretty brisk, but I was on the western fork of the Y which is deeper and significantly colder from what the boss says.

I have been on the road pretty consistently since September so my workouts aren't what they should be. Friday was my 50 thousand mile or 60th flight since January 1st.

It was my first OWS in about 10 years and first time in a wetsuit.  The cold water shooting down my back and hitting my face drove the air right out of me but I settled into a nice pace after a 2 minute holy hell this is cold sprint session. I ran out of steam quick on everything but the bike.

I'll be that Skinny SOB MOPing in the Clydesdale group. See you all there.

After another 1000m swim, 15Mi bike, 2Mi run Monday, water seemed somewhat warmer.

7 Day forecast has T-storms Sat and Partly cloudy but warm (80sh)  for Sunday!

Is BT setting up a tent?

I'm doing the Sprint so I might set the tent up. Depends on the weather, what else I have going on etc.  The new BT tent will definitely be at Musselman though.

Last workouts today, other than a short gear check/T2 practice Saturday morning. Definitely encouraged by the warm weather lately and the good forecast for the weekend!!
