Comments: Had 20 second gap ahead and behind so was not pushed or pulled. What would you do differently?: Swam harder by tring top catch up with the person 20 seconds ahead Transition 1
Comments: Got to bike quickly, gearing went well, and bike mount went well. Had some difficulty getting feet into shoes. What would you do differently?: Practice more Bike
Comments: Ride was strong as I passed a number of competitors. The long southbound leg into the wind was grueling but holding form and keeping cadence high was key to maintaining speed. What would you do differently?: Make sure my speed pickup works as my speedo and cadence meters were not working. I gauged speed by those in front of me. Transition 2
Comments: Lost a couple seconds getting shoes on. What would you do differently?: Take feet out of riding shoes a little later. Run
Comments: Started slowly but had negative splits. What would you do differently?: Do more bricks so my first mile isn't so slow. Post race
Warm down: Stretched a little and drank two pints of water and ate 3 breakfast tacos. What limited your ability to perform faster: Fitness level. This was my third race and Ive been in training for less than 12 weeks Last updated: 2011-05-21 12:00 AM

Woke at 4 and had oatmeal, coffee, toast for breakfast. Had bag packed and bike loaded night before so was in no hurry. Got to race right when transition opened so was able to take my time setting up and had lots of time to chat with other competitors and friends.
Ran 200 yards in zone 3; swam 100 yards in zone 2-3
