MarkK - 2011-06-21 11:33 AM If they do it like they have years in the past, there will be multiple shuttles running the morning of the race from the parking lot to the race site.  It is about 1 mile between the two sites.  Most people bring their triathlon bag with them. There is plenty of room on the shuttles.  There will be a lot of people also bringing bike pumps so dont worry about asking to use one if you dont bring yours.  There will also be at least one bike shop on site for assistance with your bike if needed.   Triathletes tend to be a generous bunch of folks especially on race morning and especially if you let people know its your first race.  Good luck, have fun and be safe.  It'll be my first race back in over a year and I am anxious to get racing on Sunday!

FYI - Last year I was able to park at the actual race site...didn't have to park at the offsite nonsense! There was TONS of parking at the site last year.  See you all up there! Foot in mouth

I'm leaving super early from Algonquin so I'll try to be like George Costanza and go for the best parking spot first!

schmize - 2011-06-22 10:57 AM Anyone have actual temperature readings of the lake?  Is it 68 or 74ish??

I don't have an exact temp since I refuse to carry a pool thermometer in my transition bag, but it is safe to say the water is in the low to mid 70s.

No dumb questions! You can get body marked at expo on Saturday or at transition on Sunday. Or just bring your own Sharpie, like I do in case the lines are too long.

Wow, I really never thought of that.  The couple of small tris I have done were not an issue, but Lake Geneva's fall race last year was a Charlie Foxtrot trying to get marked.  Just your number on both arms, age on left calf and wave on right calf, right?

Every race is a little different on how they mark.  The nice thing is there is always someone walking around to serve as an example.  Just copy what they have!  And the beauty is when you find someone that hasn't been marked yet.  They can mark you, you can mark them, you make a friend and everyone is happy

Thanks for the info and I too will now keep a Sharpie in my tri-bag just in case!

Good luck this weekend everyone.  There was an email sent out about the Expo; it runs from 11-4PM and you can have your body marked on-site.

Also, wave starts have been posted: http://www.pleasantprairietriathlon.com/

And the morning temp looks like it might have warmed up a degree or two.  I hope so.  Putting on arm warmers after being in the water is a PITA.

I just wanted to comment on the race yesterday... I absolutely loved it.  And I loved getting my .ss kicked (in the sprint tri) by the teenagers out there.  They were awesome and inspiring!!

On their main website:  http://www.pleasantprairietriathlon.com/  click on "results" on the left menu.  They have been up since shortly after the race.
