We ended up making four bike rides over a three day visit.

To end the saga, on our last ride before she had to go home to Oklahoma, she (somewhat politely) requested that I not wear "those" shorts. 

Seems that 10 year old's don't like to be seen in the company of spandex-clad old people.

That's hysterical! So cute. I can just hear it (I have a 10 year old, myself).

She'll remember this visit for the rest of her life. You are a wonderful grandparent! Awesome job.
