Swim
Comments: I think I did great on the swim although did not make up much time from the sprint which I thought I did bad. Water was calm... plenty of room, no drafting. I sighted well. I swam a very tight course bouy to bouy. I really don't think I could have done much better. Perhaps I could push a little more, but I don't see big time savings anywhere. I was very happy with my warm up and swim. What would you do differently?: Honestly not much. I hope to do as well in my HIM. Transition 1
Comments: I messed my Garmin auto multi sport up and spent too much time thinking about that on my way to transition. My stuff was laid out well and I thought I did good getting changed in an orderly fashion. I didn't dork with feet and much and just put my socks on. However, my suit would not come off again. My arms were stuck. My arms have never got stuck before. Then I tried to step and yank my feet out, but no go. So had to get them off my ankles again. The suit really slowed me down again. What would you do differently?: I have to get my suit off quicker. The rest I thought I did better than last race which I was hoping for. Need to get Garmin right next time. Bike
Comments: I think I went a bit too hard. I think Lee Hill factored into my stomach not digesting and giving problems on run. I felt good, but I might have hit it too hard. What would you do differently?: Not left so much on Lee Hill, but I won't have to worry about that next race. Transition 2
Comments: I was surprised I was not faster. I think it went well. I took another potty break like last race but did not loose much time. Drank some water which turned out to be bad. What would you do differently?: Not drink water. Get running and see how I feel before I start filling again. Run
Comments: It hurt! Started off with stomach pain... cramps/bloated. Ate less on the bike cause I was not feeling it. I drank well on the bike but then maybe too much at the end. Finally took some water. Felt I needed a gel before turn around. Only had 2/3 of it. Got some water at turn around. Used water to stay cool. Tried to push as hard as I could, but I did not have much in the tank. A little disappointed I could not do 9 min miles. Had no kick at end. Gave all I had. What would you do differently?: I need to dial it back a bit on the bike to help my run. Keep on my pace, keep cool, and for the HIM take in water and fuel. Post race
Warm down: Laid on grass and stretched trying to cool down What limited your ability to perform faster: Well my goal was 3 hours and I beat that, so I am very pleased with my time. However it took a lot to get it and there is no way I can do that pace for the HIM coming up. Pace the bike. Stick to nutrition plan. Don't eat a bunch of different stuff. Use the Gatorade on the course. Event comments: Over all I was very happy being under 3 hours. My swim was great. Still need to work on transition. Bike was good for bike, but I think it hurt my run. Run was hard and I wanted to do better.First Oly is in the books. HIM next. Overall I thought it was a great distance to race. I would like to do more Olys. Last updated: 2011-07-15 12:00 AM

Lots of time before wave start. Set up transition. Waited till they kicked us out. Went to warm up swimming. I was by myself.Listened to tunes before transition closed.
Made serious effort ot warm up for swim. Swam for 15 minutes... off on laps around the swim area. Helped I think. Was much better than last race.
