So, who got in?

I did!  I have always wanted to do this race, but seriously didn't think I would get it. I didn't even bother with the lottery for the last year or two.  I guess I'll be doing some hills... Fortunately for me, my favorite training area for after work running is along the river.

Damn!    "Not Selected" email just rec'd.

Now I need to figure out how to keep up the motivation to continue training for my other races after not getting into the race that would have benefited my running the most.

I've got a 10k on Saturday, local sprint (Minnewaska Tri, in Glenwood) on the 6th, Detroit lakes on the 20th, still considering Square Lake, and maybe a race in FL in October that's in between Oly and half distance (2k, 62k, 15k).  My wife is doing the full, so I was hoping to get into the 10 since I'll be there anyways cheering for her.

Oh well, maybe next year.  Good for you getting in and have fun!

I'm in! Should be interesting. I've never run that far before, so should be interesting. Guess I know what I'll be training for in September. (had been kinda bummed about not signing up for a race in September, so this will work great.) Sorry to here about the miss, Foggy and Farliq

so for future knowledge: is there a process for a "extra charitable donation" in order to run the tc 10 mile?  And how much more was it?

I looked at this myself after he posted that.   You pay $165 (65 for the race, 100 for the charity) and there are a limited number of these available.  So, if you REALLY want to do it and don't get in I think you head immediately to the race site and buy one.   Same goes for the marathon.

You can also register through The Running Room for their TC10mile clinic and if you don't get in via lottery you get automatic entry through them.  They only get a certain number of them each year though so you HAVE to do the clinic to be eligible.  Though - in years past they have had extras because people who were donig the clinic got in on lottery anyway.  You could call them (28th / Hennepin) to see if you can a. still join clinic b. still get entry

I'm doing the full this year for the first time - have done the TC10 for last 5 years.

I'm not sure if there's charitable donation spots available still or not, it was 200 of them.  I didn't actually sign up for mine until Sunday evening even though we found out the lottery results on Friday.  Besides being a caring, compassionate person that I am, my wife is doing the full so we're both there already and we've already booked our hotel room.  At that point, what's $100 extra to charity so I can run too!

I got in for the 3rd year straight! It's a GREAT race! Can't wait until October!

A lot of my in-laws and I created a team. There will be 8 of us in the 10 mile: 2 who have done it twice before, 4 who have done it once before, and 2 newbies! I really CAN'T WAIT!!

Steve are you shooting for sub 60 again?  That was really sweet last year, I was running the marathon wondering if you had completed your goal.

I'm in for the 10 miler this year as well.

I wasn't super excited about this before, but I was looking at the course info yesterday and I am now jazzed.

Question for the vets:   How early do I really need to get to the dome, including if I want to drop a sweat bag?   I tend to arrive far too early at running races, I guess it's the triathlete in me wanting to set something up.  This one is early, so I am angling to sleep in a little.

silentcs42: I don't think I can do sub-60 this year. With a newborn, my training is more "at HIS whim," and I'm not going to stress about it. I'm hoping to maybe go around sub-1:02... maybe.... See you at the 10 Mile!

And BikerGrrrl, I'm an EARLY arriver, so I'm not the one to ask. I know the "drop off trucks" are BUSY near the start, but you shouldn't really need that much time. Showing up 30 minutes early should be fine. That is, if you can get dropped off - if you're looking for a parking spot, I'd show up MUCH earlier.
