Overall Rank = 280/330

Age Group Rank = 1/5
Pre-race routine:

I think Mr. Cyclist would be slightly embarrassed if I wrote what I did to calm my nerves the night before.

I did paint my nails black and gold to match the Bumblebee!
Event warmup:

Stretching at home, it was only a 10min drive to Alum Creek from my house.
Swim
  • 27m 29s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 41s / 100 yards
Comments:

Buoys were placed too close to shore- people were running, dolphin diving. It was pretty frustrating.... :/
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

No T1 Times...there are always HFP timing issues.

Oh and my chain was OFF my front cogs. Pretty sure I didn't leave it like that.
Bike
  • 1h 18m 1s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.11 mile/hr
Comments:

Dating a cyclist has really paid off. I was very pleased at my pace and how I road. Lost a bit of steam towards the end but I was happy with my performance.
Transition 2
  • 01m 43s
Comments:

You gave your bike to a volunteer and they racked it, you went to get your bag. I forgot where my bag was and spent my T2 time searching for it.
What would you do differently?:

Rack my own bag so I knew where it was! Mr. Cyclist hopped out of the car to rack both of our bags and I drove around the block. D'oh!
Run
  • 1h 12m 20s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 11m 39s  min/mile
Comments:

Still hate to run. I need to run more. Funny, I say that every race report. I will say that I left everything I had on the course- no sprinting the last 200M into the finish line this time.
What would you do differently?:

I was pretty annoyed at COTT and JustTri. I'm pretty sure that non-racers aren't suppose to pace racers during USAT events. It made me angry when I saw the same COTT member pacing people.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked it off, drank 2 bottles of water and a banana. Cheered Macintri on as she rounded the corner to the finish. Met up with Brue and said hello to other racers.

Event comments:

This was a mighty fine Point to Point race. I was very impressed with the volunteers, planning and organization. It only would of been better had I won the bike raffle.

Congrats on the awesome bike performance! There must have been a little naughty fairy running around the transition areas that weekend pulling chains off of cogs and laces out of shoes.

I'm so jealous that you live close to Alum Creek. What a lovely, lovely place to practice your OWS. I'm trying to move to Columbus in the next few years -- if it happens, I'll be living on that beach!
