Subject: Need help COJ - easy, cheap costumes!

My husband, the IBB, and I are going an "urban scavenger hunt" this weekend. There are prizes for costumes, and I'm trying to think of something easy, cheap, light (it's going to be hot this weekend), and easily adaptable for me, a 5'10 guy, and a 10 month old.

I was thinking maybe Where's Waldo..

any ideas??

Camp counselor is my favorite. You can make up the name of your camp and use iron on letters on cheap-o t-shirts from Michael's.  For shorts you can use whatever you have, but a good bright colored pair with white piping work- the shorter, the better.

Then tube socks (compression socks can work), sneakers, a whistle and a clipboard. And you can easily bring a backpack with all of the things you need for the day. You can also put names for each of you on the back of the shirt to personalize.

Have fun with it and good luck this weekend!

Zombies are cool. Rip up some old clothes, lay on the fake blood.

From Twilight you go as Bella and have your husband make a pair of cut off jeans and use a black marker to color a circle tatoo on his arm and he's Jacob.  He doesn't even have to wear a shirt so it'll be good that it's hot.

Throw on your workout gear and go as a triathlon: Baby is swim, you're bike, hubby is run.

One of the cheapest costumes I know is Ted Nugent's loin cloth (a.k.a. Tarzon) -

Go as a nudist, cheap and cool! On second thought that's not gonna work because you wouldn't have a costume.

Next best thing: The cast from "Blue Lagoon."

I would say go as characters from "The Wire" but I'm not really sure how that would distinguish you from the rest of Bal'more and could potentially be dangerous.....

It'd be tough to morph your hands into guitars, though... And would make caring for IBB a bit more difficult!

Edward Scissorshands didn't do too bad, and he had a hedgetrimmer/shears and scissors for hands and was quite the hair designer and botanical engineer.

Wear a bunch of checkered clothes or cover cheap clothes in magic-markered check marks. You'll be the Czech Republic.
