Swim
Comments: BAD swim. WAY off pace. came out of the hole too quick and got winded. that combined with lack of OWS practice sighting slowed me down WAY further than I expected What would you do differently?: swim the pace I trained. practice sighting before Transition 1
Comments: NOTHING NEW ON RACE DAY. used new/different socks and jersey. had a hard time getting into both wet. lost a fair amount of time there. What would you do differently?: race belt, possibly go back to standard t shirt, not a bike jersey, use the standard old socks Bike
Comments: nice overall ride. see note on killer hill. probably could have pushed a touch harder here, but already pushed to make up for bad swim and t-1 time. What would you do differently?: nothing. good, enjoyable ride. Transition 2
Comments: not bad given change to using clips this race. a little slower than previous races, but attributable to changing shoes What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: overall not on pace with training, but was slack, especially on running the 2 weeks prior to the race What would you do differently?: run more 2 weeks in advance of race. Post race
Warm down: stretch and massage What limited your ability to perform faster: altitude, slacking off the two weeks prior to race, bad swim set off my mojo Event comments: overall great race. after events not quite as good as 36 north, but good food, free massage, and you can't beat the setting. my only complaint was that they closed saturday pickup an hour before the pre-race info indicated. I was LUCKY to get my stuff after driving 45 minutes to the race site. will definately be back Last updated: 2011-08-10 12:00 AM
