Swim
Comments: I am really psyched about my swim. This is my first OWS that I felt really comfortable doing and my breathing was great. I had an awesome swim and now all I need to do is get faster. What would you do differently?: sip more water pre-race, try not to be so nervous! This swim was a major confidence-booster for the next OWS Transition 1
Comments: I was mostly prepared pre-race but I futs around with my bag trying to find a gel-pack as I was hungry. Bike
Comments: Still need more hill training. I was *really* fast on the downhills and so-so on the hills. I passed a lot of people but the elites and better hill-climbers passed me. Transition 2
Comments: Good T2 but still had to stop and stretch calves due to extreme tightness. Run
What would you do differently?: Need more bike/run brick workouts. Post race
Warm down: Minor stretching and walking around, drank water and took advantage of the athlete food tent :) What limited your ability to perform faster: My knees and the usual pain I've had with them all year, my lack of hill training and bike/run brick workouts. Event comments: This has been my best Triathlon yet, especially for the swim. I really enjoyed this race but I absolutely despised having to drive up the day before to "register"...Very annoying! Lack of sleep, up at 3:45am to be at event for 5AM. Stressed over bike valve breaking off during tire inflation. Very little stretching of legs pre-race, which I'd come to regret.
