Subject: Augusta Coming up - NEED ADVICE!

Ok, So I've been doing sprint tri's this summer (3 to be exact).  About a month ago I did an Olympic distance, did well on the swim and too fast (21mph ave) on bike and ending up with quite a bit of walking (and discomfort) in the run.  i have a new job where I was working on my feet all day for 12 hours/day.  My boss got wind of my IM training and basically threatened me to stop.  My training is complete and i have time to train now BUT... I only have 4 weeks left.  My long ride is only 42mi (a week ago), my long run is 7mi (last Sat) and i haven't hit the pool in several weeks(been doing weights upper body though).  I'm signed up and paid for Augusta 70,3.  Is it crazy for me to attempt Augusta now?  Scratch it?  Or could I try some sort of crash prep training just so I can at least finish.  Thanks for any help you can provide!

Other Info:

I have completed 10 half marathons and 5 full marathons (last one was disney half last Jan).  Logest tri was the Olympic a month ago

I'm 42 yrs, 6-0 and weigh 180lbs (8 pounds over my marathon weight)

Thanks,

Matt

IMO it all hinges on one question... what is your comfort level in the water in similar scenario's (Open Water with other people)?

If the swim is not going to be a problem (and I think you need to swim a bit between now and the 25th for sure) then I don't think finishing will be a problem, just try not to blow it on the bike so that your run won't be miserable.

See you in Augusta

I agree with the above.  (Oh, and Augusta doesn't actually have a swim.  It's more like a flume.)
