Pre-race routine:

Fruit and hard boiled egg for breakfast. Warm-up and stretching. Get transition area ready.

Comments:

Felt great. Middle of my wave. Breast stroke most of the way with some freestyle. Waited at the beginning so I didn't get kicked in the face.
What would you do differently?:

Do more freestyle. Train only freestyle since it is a lot faster and doesn't take the room that a good breast stroke does.

Hard getting on shorts. Had a quick drink of water. Went down the wrong row to get bike. Should have paid more attention to what row I was in.
What would you do differently?:

Pay more attention to where my bike was. Laid on biking stuff instead of having in a bag - was afraid it was going to rain though.

Should have trained more on bike. Quite slow on mountain bike. Road bike would be nice. Hard with wind.

More longer distances in training. Learn more about gears.

Had trouble racking bike because it was crowded. Not sure what I could have done to prevent this. Everything else was smooth.

Great run for me. Walked a couple of times after large hills. Good run pace when I ran and felt great. Pushed myself to the end.
What would you do differently?:

Not much for the run. Felt great and very happy with my time.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched and drank lots of water. Had a power bar. Slowly kept moving my legs.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wind for the biking, not used to swimming with others - backed off to have my own space.

Event comments:

This is the only race that I've been to. I loved it. There was a great range of athletes so I didn't feel out of place. Great to see so many women wanting to and living healthy lifestyles.
