Got in the chilly water (66 degrees) and did a 5 min swim
Swim
  • 38m 5s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 48s / 100 yards
Comments:

First 200 meters was a little rough with some banging of bodies but then it was clear sailing. The swim seemed a little long maybe around 300 meters.
What would you do differently?:

I would have tried pace a little bit better I would have liked to finish a little stronger.
Transition 1
  • 01m 40s
Comments:

I put on my shoes in transition and ran out.
What would you do differently?:

It went smoothly 23rd fast transition of the day.
Bike
  • 2h 55m 15s
  • 56 miles
  • 19.17 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt really good on the bike, much better then my pre-rides of the course. Rode a majority of the course by myself ran into or got caught by a few groups. Wanted an average HR of 135 so I might have went to hard. But I felt good.
What would you do differently?:

I used a Torpedo Water Bottle mount and I lost 2 water bottles at separate times I need to fix that problem. I also had a bad break on the Left hand turn on to 418 10 miles in to the ride, my gel flask came off my bike so I had no gel for the whole ride. This was a problem during the run.
Transition 2
  • 01m 38s
Comments:

I sat down to put on socks and shoes, and gave my wife a kiss. 96th ranked
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 2h 11m 15s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

Out of transition I had some calf cramping at the first aid station I used the bathroom, Took 3 Endrolytes and had gel.
I held a 9 min mile pace through 8 miles and then I began to slow. i needed to do some walking I went to Coke and Gel.

I did not have and juice in my legs, at mile 13 I got full cramps in both legs a hobbled to the finish
What would you do differently?:

Get more calories on the Bike so i do not have problems on the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank a ton of water
Went for a dip in the lake

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I met all my goals swimming under 40;00
Cycling under 3:00
and finishing under 6:00
I wanted to run under 2:00 and i ran a 2:11 so this is the only goal I did not meet.

Event comments:

Good overall Event

Nice race, I too had a tough time on the run there. Just FYI, you put your overall time down as 7 hours, when it looks like it was more around 5:48:00.. no need to sell yourself short like that!
