Signed up for the full, my first Iron distance. Live over in Birmingham, MI and am wondering what terrain the course is. Could anyone give a brief summary of the bike and run course. I've looked at the course maps and descriptions from the MI Titianium website, linked to map my tri, but it's not real good. Will it be rolling hills on the bike, more flat then hilly, big climbs, etc....? Same for the run ..... Any info would be appreciated. Cant wait for more info from the race directors about the course; aid stations, on course nutrition, etc... As a first timer, the more info I can get for training, the better!

If you hadn't seen it already, the 3/4 distance was changed to a 1/2 distance.  There are also going to be some benefits/awards (details coming in the future) for people who "double down" and do both the GR Half and the MiTi Half.

The courses for both the bike and run are going to be rolling hills.  Nothing too major, but not flat either.  I'm on the volunteer committee for the MiTi race and we are going to try and do some videos of the course and add some more details once we get out and ride it.

The RideWithGPS.Com elevation chart is a bit better than MapMyTri IMHO.  I mapped it out here: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/851939 if you want to take a peak (NOTE: THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL MAP SO HOPEFULLY I DIDN'T SCREW UP THE REDRAWING OF THE COURSE).

Make sure to like the page on FB (https://www.facebook.com/MiTitanium) and/or Twitter (http://twitter.com/mititanium) to get all the updates.

Good luck training!

There is no overlap between the GR Half Triathlon and Michigan Titanium Triathlons.  The GR Tri is centered in Ada Township and heads South and East.  The Michigan Titanium course is centered in Plainfield Township and heads North and East.

That's what I deciphered from the maps, but I thought I remember someone saying there was overlap. Thanks for the confirmation!
