Total Time = 1h 30m
Overall Rank = 82/254
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 9/14
Pre-race routine:

Got up for breakfast of oatmeal and coffee. Got things together and headed to the race site at 6. Nice to be ale to have my hubby doing this race as a relay. He was doing the bike portion with two other neighbors. Really great to only be 5 min from the race site!
Event warmup:

No warm up but got to chat with a lot of people I haven't seen in awhile!
Swim
  • 18m 9s
  • 820 yards
  • 02m 11s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not the fastest swimmer, but was happy with my time. I have not been in open water all summer. Was able to sight well, breathing was Ok but could have been a bit better. Sean swam over top of me. He was in the wave behind me. I guess I can forgive him since he was the swimmer for Kevin's relay team!
What would you do differently?:

Practice more OW swims.
Transition 1
  • 05m 28s
Comments:

This was a long hike from the water so most of that time was the 1/4 mile run. Slow.
What would you do differently?:

Not to sure what I could do differently. Maybe not put the water shoes on after getting out of the water. Grass was really course and hurt my feet.
Bike
  • 40m 12s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 18.55 mile/hr
Comments:

This is the first sprint race that I have done with my Felt. Also the first time I got to say "on your left" a lot! Push hard but wanted to save a bit for the run. Only goal for this race was to beat my neighbor on the bike and I did. I passed her at the turn around!
Transition 2
  • 01m 48s
Run
  • 28m 26s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

My neighbor got out of transition before me so I knew that I had to run hard so she wouldn't beat me to badly. She can run like the wind! I really worked hard and didn't walk at all. With all the ironman training I had done in the week this run was great for me. Think this may have been my fastest 5K!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing I was pretty speedy
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

The only thing that limited my performance was all the ironman training I have been doing. I didn't take any time off to rest for this sprint. This race was really just a training day for me so I could get some OW swimming. My only goal was accomplished so I feel great about the day! We had to stay for the awards because Kevin's team won first place for the relay teams. Really proud of them!!

Event comments:

Love having set up do this race almost in my back yard. Also think that Set Up is a fabulous race organization!
