Question - when I look at a workout via the web (Workouts section) and see that a workout has a TSS of 123, is that 123 at my FTP (160 right now) or at the default FTP of 200?  I assume Intensity Factor has no relation to FTP and is consistent regardless of the athlete's individual attributes.

TSS is the same for a ride regardless of FTP between two different users.

npearson99 - 2012-01-16 1:23 PM Yah! If you'r on a PC get TR all setup in horizontal mode. Then select your netflix window and push f11. That should get netflix in full screen and you can still see TrainerRoad.

Thanks!

That is for Internet Explorer, correct?  F11 doesn't seem to work for Firefox.

Should work for IE, FireFox and Chrome. This is on windows, right?

It should put your browser in full screen mode.

Just signed up!  I started out with an easier workout just to get the feel, and this is exactly what I needed!  The visual feed back is amazing.

One question.  I tried reading through this whole tread, so I might have missed this answer.  After the 8 minute test, do I have to adjust my FTP in my profile from 200 to X?

Thanks.

If you finish the 8-minute test (all the way to the end) it will popup a window telling you what your new FTP should be and what your old FTP is.  it gives you a button to change it to the new FTP or keep the old FTP.  Alternatively you can change it in your profile instead.

Excellent, thanks.  I have the 8 minute test set up for my next one, as the beginning base plan for 6 weeks.

It works for Firefox. Watched 'Spirit of the Marathon' on Netflix while doing TR last night.

I've got TR loaded on my desktop and my laptop.  The ride I completed yesterday shows up on my laptop (makes sense, that's what I had the ANT stick plugged in to) but not my desktop.  TR on my laptop does contain all previous rides when the stick was in my desktop.  Also, yesterday's ride does not show up at all in my history when logged into the web site.  I've refreshed, logged out and back in, rebooted and did not delete it...Thoughts?

Yah, try re-publishing your workout from your laptop. I bet that will do it. If it doesn't drop me an e-mail at [email protected]. I'll check our your database and see why it's not publishing.

Check out this post how to do it.

Nate,

I have one of the listed trainers (Blackburn Fluid), but use my Powertap to display power output. I believe I am having calibration issues with my Powertap and was wondering if I could use my trainer as my power source but use the powertap to get the speed and cadence information? Or is there a way to display both virtual power and actual power from the powertap at the same time? This would help greatly with diagnosing faulty power meters.

I wouldn't use VirtualPower to diagnose your powertap. Best to find someone with a quarq, srm or computrainer and ride on that. VP could be off big a few watts due to rolling resistance.

More info on that here:

Is there a way to display both power output from my powertap and virtual power from my trainer on the same graph? regardless of me using it as a calibration tool

If I have my Garmin 305 connected to the docking station and plugged into a USB port, will that act the same as an ANT+ stick?

No . It has to be a Garmin ANT Stick or the Suunto USB stick.

Just for data purposes I would like to look back at MPH on past ride intervals. How come it is not posted except on the screen after workout?

Speed by itself doesn't mean anything on the trainer. I added it to the desktop player because people asked a ton for it. I'm not saving it on the web server right now because that's how it was originally built and it's pretty hard to make that change and re-populate all the workouts with speed data.

Speed is a red haring on the trainer. It's not even a linear scale on most trainers. I think I'm doing a disservice by even showing it in the desktop player.

You should look at VirtualPower or Power if you want to see what you're doing and how past sessions went.

Sorry, I kinda sound like an . But I feel really strong about it .

Your good. I was just wondering why it was one place and not another. One more thing, if my first ever test was last month should I test again since I know what to expect.

Yah, that's not a bad idea. You could also just raise your FTP until you can't complete your workouts.

i'm jumping in on this bandwagon, what a great training tool!!!

i paired it with a sufferfest vid (revolver), and between the two, it brings the whole riding on the trainer thing to a new level!!

Gonna do a 20 min test tonight, see how that goes

Thanks for all the hard work Nate, this is really a cool tool, and sooo easy to use. i tell all my friends about it, it's that great!!

my TR name is the same as the one here.

The reason it's not showing up on your other computer is because it isn't synced to the website yet (that's also why it doesn't show up on the website).

Try re-opening TrainerRoad on your computer that has the workout one more time. If that doesn't work, drop me an e-mail at [email protected]. I'll be able to get some data from you and post that workout. It will also tell me what went wrong so I can fix it in the next version.

Thanks for letting us know about this.

I tried uploading a workout to BT after saving it as a tcx file (usng garmin as the equipment in the BT uploader).  The time, miles, and cadence show up in my training log, but no opwer numbers.  I'm using virtual power with a 1-up trainer.  Is this expected?

Mine is the same.  I figured it was b/c it is Virtual Power and not from a power meter.  Here is a link to my most recent ride:

That TCX file has watts in it. I think we should log a bug with Beginner Triathlete.

How do we do that? just [email protected]?

It seems like the tcx file is ok.  I imported it into Garmin connect and power shows up.
