Overall Rank = 282/332
Age Group = Athena
Age Group Rank = 6/7
Pre-race routine:

I got up late and ate my oatmeal in the car. Got to the site a little late so I felt a little rushed. I got my transition area set up and then wetn to pick up my timing chip and get body marked. Then I coulld relax and focus on feeding and hydration. I drank 12 oz of Accelerade and 24 oz water between getting up in the morning and race time. I also had a Hammer Gel about 30 minutes pre-race.
Event warmup:

It was a short warm up because they didn't really have a warm up pool. I ran just long enough to break a nice sweat and stretched. About 20 minutes before the swim start. I took a shower to get wet since I wasn't sure if I was going to get in the pool before starting the swim. They had the diving well open so i got in and tried to warm up a little. It was hard though as 3 strokes and I was to the other wall.
Swim
  • 06m 48s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 16s / 100 yards
Transition 1
  • 03m 32s
Comments:

It was a long transition from the pool and wadingthorugh the kiddie pool slowed me down.
What would you do differently?:

I was a little disorganized with my helmet, glasses and gloves. I need to practice this more so it is just a natural routine.
Bike
  • 46m 21s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 16.05 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

Be aure to pre-ride the course so I know when to push it. This is the first course I haven't had a chance to pre-ride and I didn't like not knowing what was up the road.
Transition 2
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

Overall this was a pretty good transition for me. It could be a little quicker
What would you do differently?:

The dismount line was on an incline. I was worried about mnot getting un clipped so I unclipped a littel early adn then struggled up the hill.
Run
  • 37m 40s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 12m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

The hill was mentally hard because you went down it first and then knew it was coming.
What would you do differently?:

Be mentally tougher on the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a bit and chatted with a couple of other BTers that were at the race. Grabbed a bagel and some Oreos and packed up my stuff.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Run fitness and mental toughness

Event comments:

I hope to complete this race again next year. It was well organized and fun.

Course: The end of the swim was interesting you swam a half lap and then ran/ walked through the kiddie pool area which was about 3 feet deep. Other than that is was good. There was a small traffic jam in front of me so i couldn't pass the person in front of me, but it didn't slow me down too much.

Course: A good bike course. I'm not sure how a 2 loop course can be mostly donwhill. I was worried for the first lap as i heard some folks talking about a big hill you had to go up twice. I never found it though. It was a little rolling, but a pretty quick course overall.

t was good to see you again Sue.  We hadn't seen you since the Y Tri's last winter.   I had some of the same problem areas you did.  That dismount line was worrying me the entire time.  Plus the swim exit was horrible.  Hopefully next year I will be prepared better for these areas.  Great race and can't wait to see you at the next one!
