I've done it a couple times, it's a great event and a lot of fun!  A few tips though...traffic is a real issue, the first year I did it I stayed at an off site hotel, and left an hour and a helf before the race.  The hotel was less than 2 miles away.  I got to the start line about 3 minutes before the gun!  Also, if you plan to run at any pace at all, make sure you are lined up at least halfway up, probably further up, or you'll be walking and dodging traffic for a long time.  Be a little cuatious in the 2nd half when the trails are wet, they get a little slippery by that point.  Be hungry at the end, because there is a great spread.  Have fun!

Thanks for the tips looking forward to the food hopefully they will leave some for me. I heard bring extra clothes and garbage bags to throw your muddy clothes in, nice little tip I never would have thought of.

I'm in - My first time too... thanks for the traffic advice, am local, so would not have thought to get there that early. May park at work and bike the few miles to the start?

It's right off of 80/35, so there is really no "quicker" way.  I would park farther away and do your warm-up by running in.  You can park on the East side of the Interstate and go farther down the road and park in some of the open lots.
