I will play along, but there is not much use in comparing bike sizes.  There are too many other factors that come into play (your goals, injuries, flexibility, proportions, etc) and there is nothing to say that the person you are comparing yourself to had a good fit.  You also need to take into account things like stem length/angle, seat post height/angle, type of bars, crank length, etc...

height: 5'10.5"
weight: 157-160lbs
build:  Longer legs (34" inseam)
Bikes:

  • 56cm Cervelo RS
  • 58cm Felt B12

Height: 5'8"
weight: 160
build: 31" inseam, short torso
brand: Blue Triad
bike size: Small

I looked closely at the Blue and the Cannondale Slice after ruling out Cervélo tri bikes.  The bike shop that did my FIST fitting said he'd love to put me on a Cervélo because he's a dealer for them, but that I should take the time to check out other manufacturers.  The Blue is a good fit for me with my relatively short torso measurement.

5'10"

175lbs of chiseled granite (I wish!)

32.75" inseam

bike: 2010 Felt B2, size 56

When I got my fitting done, either a Cervelo p2/p3 in a 54 or a Felt in a 56 was a good fit. The Felt was a wee bit large, but dropping the stem on the bayonet system one notch below horizontal got me into a perfect position. Pretty much the same as a 54cm P3. This got me into a setup where there's no stem sticking up above the head tube. Plus the $800 discount on the Felt didn't hurt either

they say I'm a bit longer in the torso and should go for a Felt or Cervelo.

inseam:  80cm

Road bike:  Orbea Onix 52"

tri bike:  None, but in search of P2 or P3 51", maybe a CD0.1 M (51").  Maybe a felt B-something.

51cm? Really?

Yep, I could go with a 54 very easily, but I'm rather small (at 150-155 lbs) and

Small?  I'd give anything to be 5'9" and 155lbs!  Let's talk small when your size closely matches horse jockey stats, and you have trouble finding anything (e.g. clothing, shoes, bikes, etc) to fit you.

I'm 5'2" (after a night spent in traction); 127lbs; shorter torso & ride a 48cm Orbea.

I'll Play but like others have mentioned there is more to just this for fit on a bike. You would need to know stem length, saddle to bottom of pedal stroke as well as functional TT measurments. Many of these can be changed on the bike to adjust for fit so all this is tellling you  is an approximate size range bike for you which I am sure you already had an idea of

height  - 5'9"

weight  - 160-165 race weight, currently 170-174

build - proportional

brand  - no tri bikes.

ROAD  Merlin Proteus 53, Litespeed Classic 52,

MTB Specialized Stumpjumper M, Intense 5.5 M

I am looking to upgrade to a new Road Bike next year.  Any suggestions on brands to look at for long legs and short torsos?

My elbow bends more easily then most, so my info should not be used as a base.

???????????

This whole thread is essentially pointless, but I couldn't help re-reading this statement several times and trying to figure it out.   I would imagine that most non-arthritic adults have elbows that bend with relative ease.  *shrug*

I'll play for fun...

Height: 5'4"
Weight: 114 lb
Build: Very short legs and arms (or very long torso, depending on your perspective...the fact I can put my hands on the grown has nothing to do with flexibility; however, I am pretty flexible)
Brand: Trek Equinox WSD
Size: 50cm

This bike fits me great. I extended the stem to allow my very long torso to stretch out more, but I think much of my ability to be comfortable in has to do with my overall flexibility.

I also have a Specialized Allez road bike that's the same size.
