I'd take down the teenagers I saw today riding motorized scooters around the lake path, so loud I can hear them from across the water (1.65 mile path around).   Seriously, I think it's illegal.  And of course no helmets, flipflops, and even two numbskulls on one unit.

forget that idea...go out there and build a flimsy ramp.  The boneheads will take the bait.  Then, let Darwin weed them out naturally.

So you'd write a ticket to someone for obeying the law? I guess it's probably a good thing you're not a cop.

Agressive Driving in this state is defined as attempting to use your vehicle to impose your will upon others.  Going slow/not making passing progress in the left lane is defined as aggressive driving, and I know of at least one successful case of prosecution...6pts and nearly 1k in fines.

The speed limit is 65 mph so that is as fast as you are allowed to go, traffic penalties for speeding start at 66 mph, do the cops give a buffer? yes but no ticket for going the speed limit and no way could you win a case of aggressive driving for 64 in a 65...

Agree with the sentiment, but cops cannot give tickets for being an a hole, which is what the OP said he'd do.

It is against the law in this state to ride side-by-side with another vehicle without passing. But that wasn't detailed in the OP. Driving 64mph in the left lane could well mean you're passing a string of cars doing 55.

Some states the law says it's illegal to be impeding traffic in the left lane. No speed is mentioned. So technically you could be given a ticket for doing 90 in the left lane if you're holding up a cannonball run.

How about a ticket for throwing a cigarette out of your car window.  It is littering, right?  And if it is still lit? Triple fine!

My suggestion: Get a separate ticket book. You're technically letting them go by not writing a real ticket, but you offically get to call them an a-hole. No points, no fine: Just being called out as a proven a-hole.

yea, as I was driving in this morning there was an d-bag that was really screwing with the traffic flow doing this.  Four lanes of traffic and he's in the left lane and everyone is passing him on the right.  every once in a while he would speed up to about 70 and then slow-down to 60.  Traffic was heavy so it took a while to get around the azz!

You want to drive like my Grandma in the right lane of a multi-lane road, be my guest.  The moment you hit that left lane, you better be up to the predominant speed or you're impeding traffic.  Thats a big issue in my town, we have a highway thats the main north/south road.  Rather than left turns at every intersection, we have "michigan lefts" where you pass the road you want to turn onto, then U-turn to come back to it and turn right.  We have lots of of people who coast in the left lane until their turn-off.  And they're always out during my commute......  Grr.....

Not enough space in the jails unfortunately...  Although we do have written warning tickets which we have to hand out and sometimes it takes a loooooooong time to write them

i had my first experience with michigan lefts a few months ago.  what nimrod came up with that brilliant idea?  i thought driving in florida sucked, but driving in michigan might take the taco.

if i were a an officer of the law, i'd find everyone of those little terds that peel out in neighborhoods and leave the long black tire marks on the road and whip them with wet noodles.
