What are you using for your training nutrition?   are you using the Gu's, gels, blocks, etc?

This is one area where I use a non-Paleo food.  I prefer Hammer gels and HEED because they have nothing artificial and they really agree with me.

I still fuel prior to training sessions with Paleo foods, especially smoothies with egg white protein, and perhaps more sweet potatoes the night before.  I also make my own recovery smoothies if I have an extra hard workout.

I do pretty much the same as Di except that I am using Clif gels.  I usually use food (not smoothies) for recovery, but I always try and up the carb content a bit after a hard workout with potatoes, bananas or even fruit juice (in a pinch).  So far, I'm finding my workout energy to be as good as it was pre-paleo with the extra added bonus that I never have GI problems anymore.  That was a common problem for me before my switch (2 months ago).

for training I use G2, and whatever gels I find on sale :-)! For my HIM I used everything from Clif Shots, Gus, Hammer, Powershots and Shot bloks. All worked well. I find that when I am training I can do the simple sugars (since you need to replace the energy). Recovery is where I try to stay to strict Paleo. Lots of sweet potatoes and fruit, and always with some form of protein.
Isn't it amazing how great you feel when your tummy is happy!
