Subject: Problems with Polar RS100

Hi guys,

I have a Polar RS100.  It had been working properly, but suddenly, the HR doesn't go higher than 100 or 110 bpm.  I changed the battery in the sensor, but it still has the same behavior. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Thanks,

Andres

I just got mine a few days ago and it was displaying my heart rate as exactly 1/2 of what it actually was... not quite the same problem, but the fix was to reset the reciever/watch by holding in all four buttons for a few moments.  Perhaps that'll work for you too?  Have used it for a couple of workouts now and love it so far.

When you were viewing half of your HR, the watch was probably in % of max view. When you are in record mode(working out)pushing the bottom right button switch the HR view from BPM to % of max. The % icon is on the left side of the display.

Subject: RE: Problems with Polar RS100
I'm having a different problem with my Polar RS100 HRM. I've had it for a little over 2 years, and right around the 2 year mark the batteries in both the watch and the HRM started to go. I knew the battery in the watch was going because the low battery icon came on, and I inferred that the battery in the HRM was going because it wouldn't always connect with the watch. So I changed them both myself. I know, I know, the manual explicitly says that I shouldn't change the watch battery myself. But the nearest service center my house is over 1,000mi away. I use mine several times a week, and didn't want to go that long without it, especially because I've changed plenty of watch batteries myself.

The change seemed straightforward enough: remove the back plate with a small screwdriver, swap out the battery, replace the back plate while making sure the outer seal is flat. And it seemed to work fine for the first few weeks. But then I started having some weird problems. First, the low battery light would come on sometimes, but then go back to normal. Then, at other times, the screen would go blank anytime I would use the backlight. And recently the watch has been periodically resetting itself completely.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what's going on / how to fix it? Thanks!

I sent you a PM. It could be a battery contact issue.

Hi Wayne. I don't know what I did while I was training, but now instead of day and date on top of the screen I have Polar logo. I can not find in the manual what I should do to fix this. Can you help me? Thank you.
