Subject: RE: Problems with Polar RS100 I'm having a different problem with my Polar RS100 HRM. I've had it for a little over 2 years, and right around the 2 year mark the batteries in both the watch and the HRM started to go. I knew the battery in the watch was going because the low battery icon came on, and I inferred that the battery in the HRM was going because it wouldn't always connect with the watch. So I changed them both myself. I know, I know, the manual explicitly says that I shouldn't change the watch battery myself. But the nearest service center my house is over 1,000mi away. I use mine several times a week, and didn't want to go that long without it, especially because I've changed plenty of watch batteries myself.
The change seemed straightforward enough: remove the back plate with a small screwdriver, swap out the battery, replace the back plate while making sure the outer seal is flat. And it seemed to work fine for the first few weeks. But then I started having some weird problems. First, the low battery light would come on sometimes, but then go back to normal. Then, at other times, the screen would go blank anytime I would use the backlight. And recently the watch has been periodically resetting itself completely.
Does anybody have any suggestions on what's going on / how to fix it? Thanks! |
