Pre-race Music: What do you listen to? (Page 2)

I've only done 3 races so far, same series and same company organizing them. They play Bob Marley pre-race, and that is just perfect for me. Would probably be my choice if I were picking the music, it just plays quietly in the background making me happy and letting me relax into the surreality of being up pre-dawn with a bunch of people in spandex.

My husband loads my MP3 player with a different play list for my races.  He starts out with some slower softer tunes and then builds them up for just before race time.  I'm horrible with group names and songs and such. It is more the beat that gets me pumped up.  My last race had a couple of songs from the Daredevil sountrack on it I think.  They worked well. 

The one song that gets me totally pumped, and I listen to it over and over, is "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. Ooooh, gives me chills just thinking about it...better grab my running shoes!

I don't have an MP3, but I when I take my car to races, do like to fire up the old CD player and listen to Vivaldi. If I bike to a race, I have the "Four Seasons" playing in my head.

before bike races sometimes i play Kraftwerks Tour de France soundtrack. if you're an electro-head like myself you can really appreciate how they capture the feeling of rushing down a hill with all those Kraut synthesizers :p
