If you blog your training, post here with your training goals. We're headed into the off-season, which means we're pretty much limited to running events and getting ready for the spring races. I thought it would be good to renew the thread since the last one was fairly out-dated.

I do blog my training and I'm hoping to do IM France in June 2006!

I blog. I'm doing the Philadelphia Marathon in Nov (my 1st). After that I'm going to try to focus on my swimming for a couple months.

Doubt I'm going to do an IM next season. If I do, it's Chesapeake Man. Otherwise, focus is a couple Olys (Columbia & Philly) and Timberman HIM. Definately IM in 2007!

Off-season? What the heck is that.

Signed up for another winter of running in the snow, riding in the garage, and doing IMCDA in the spring.

Can I chime in even if a IM is not on my plate. I've just started training for the California HIM in Oceanside next March, so this doesn't feel like off season for me either. I certainly appreciate all the wonderful info you all have given over the last year.

Gasparilla Half mary in Feb, signed up for Eagleman in June, and looking for another HIM towards the end of the season. Looking to finish sub 6 hrs, hopefully around 5:30, which would be shaving 45 mins off my Diamondman time. i had a bad race, though, so hopefully it's doable. we'll see!

working on getting better at all 3 disciplines and core work this fall and winter.
I am enjoying my first off season in years. I don't think anyone will want to see my logs for the winter.

I am beginning to get back into the swing of things...guess the last two months were my "off season", intentional or not. Have to rev up the training for IMAZ 06. Feel free to follow along, although I can't promise any creative readings......there, you've been warned!

I'm also "getting back into the swing of things". I took off basically a month and a half, even though i didn't really intend too. I think my body just said "Stop or I am taking my ball and going home!". I am preparing to start slowly training again beginning tomorrow. I definately blog my training. My first 1/2 mary is in Feb (Pacific Shoreline) and I am doing 1/2 Vineman next July.

There are several folks who don't take an off season? What gives? Can someone explain this?

I'm a very active blogger. I've got a 1/2 IM at the end of Oct, then I'm taking 2 weeks off after that. Then I'll start the off-season training. I want to maintain my swim and bike, and really improve on my running. Hoping to go from 10 min/mi to 8 min/mi for the sprint races.

I'll be blogging my off season like crazy as I'll spend it leaving behind sprint distance training (all I've ever known) for preparing for my first Half IM in June (Mooseman). YIKES!

I blog! I have my Miami 1/2 IM in 3 weeks, then Kiawah Island 1/2 marathon in December, Gasparilla Marathon in February, Gulf Coast 1/2 IM in May 2006, and then IM FL 2006. I don't think I'll have an off season

Oh, I'll be bloggin all right. I've just had my off season...about 6 weeks. Now it's back to the grind, beginning yesterday...

Goal for next year: Lightning fast OLY's. Won't run a race longer than an OLY, and this will be the first year where I'm not complicating my schedule with marathons, centuries, divorces, whatever. I'm also preparing for the dreaded 4-0 where, if I'm fast enough, I can begin the assault on AG hardware. I feel the need for speed...

I blog my training as well and IMCDA is on the plate for next June. I'll be running in the slush and snow, riding the trainer, swimming in the pool, and skate and downhill skiing to increase my fitness during the winter. Then next spring the training REALLY starts to heat up for the IM.

I will be blogging my off-season training. Thus far it has been very useful.
Goals:
1/2 marathon this weekend. Work on swimming and cycling technique until Dec 9th when my training for the White Lake (NC) HIM begins. Also plan to due the Duke Liver Center HIM in September. Will pepper my schedule with other races...
good luck to all!

I blog my trianing. No 1/2 IM in my goals, but I'm training in the pool like I am. Check out today's 3.5 hour double workout (sorry, but I had to brag to someone).

Goals: Swim 200fr in 1:57, 100bk sub 1:00
Maybe get out of the water first next tri?

Go for it, Sarah! I'd like to race my first Half_IM in 2006 and also have my eyes on the NH races. Just need to see if I can be ready in July, or will need to wait till Aug.

And Marina's planning a summer peak for a Half_IM as well...awesome!!
Guess I can check your ladies' blogs for inspiration!

Looking forward to the off-season gains in speed and strength, -Sunny

Why lose all the fitness you worked so hard to get? That doesn't make any sense? Does it?
