it's been raining here for the past 2 days and there is chance it will be raining tomorrow morning. when i set up transition, should i cover my bike with a trashbag or something? I know to cover running shoes, but it the bike necessary, maybe just the seat?

isn't your behind allready going to be wet when you hit the seat?

I wouldn't cover my bike- but then again I don't know if there's a practical reason to do it (keep certain components dry).

If it's raining during the race nothing on your bike will stay dry anyhow so don't take the time to cover it. However like you mentioned cover your running shoes and don't forget to bring an extra pair of socks for the run (the few seconds it will take to change your socks might be the difference between blistered feet or not).

Good luck and hope it doesn't rain!

I never could figure out the reasoning behind athletes covering their bike seats with plastic bags if there is a threat of rain...

yea i guess it's pretty useless. I see bikes locked up around the city like this all the time but that's a different issue. it didn't rain by the way, which was sweet.
