Pre-race routine:

Had my usual oatmeal breakfast. Ate a banana & drank a bottle of Gatorade on my way to the race.
Event warmup:

Stretched and waited in the Cheryl & Co (cookieplace) near the start. MMMmm...cookies.
Run
  • 2h 12m
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

I started out a bit too fast because I was just trying to stay in the huge pack and get moving to stay warm. After a mile I settled into my planned 10min/mile pace. At the start I was doubting the idea of this run because I knew that I wasn't at my peak, but slogged on. At the 10 mile mark, my calves and quads were getting sore (not used to the impact, of course). I slowed down a bit and took a few walk breaks but still finished strong.

Start: 38F-W6-Dew37F-Hum97%-Clear
Finish: 52F-NNW9-Dew42F-Hum69%-Clear
What would you do differently?:

Start out a bit slower. More training! But hey, this is a good inidcator of my fitness and motivation to stick to my training plan if I want to do RnR Arizona in January.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked 4 blocks to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Inconsistent running over the past two weeks. Head cold and sore throat. Extra body fat.

Event comments:

Great volunteers and excellent neighborhood support!

Great Race!!

Did you do this with someone else? Is it like a tri relay or does it work differently?

I think you run fast...and I can't wait until I can run that fast.

You enjoyed time in Canada with little training so you did awesome and are on track for your Marathon. It shows your hard work and fitness level. You must be excited to hold your pace and have worked your plan. It will give you some knowledge for your longer race.

Enjoy your recovery!!

Thanks Kathy. I am hard on myself because I know I can run faster...I have run faster.

We had a chip with a velcro ankle strap and just handed it over to my teammate at the halfway mark.

Way to go on your race!  I was thinking about you running yesterday and wondering how the weather was in Columbus.  It was awful windy and blustery up here in the northern part of Ohio. (Someone just told me we had winds gusting to 30 mph yesterday.)  Hope it wasn't that bad down there.
