Pre-race routine:

Comments:

Good race. Having the Girl Scouts out was great. There were plenty of them at the water stops and they were all enthusiastic.
What would you do differently?:

Go out harder. I decided to keep my heart rate around 172 or so. I figured that would allow me to finish solid without fading. It turns out it was too easy, though. I was able to really crank out the last two laps and I probably left quite a bit in the tank. If I had shot for 175 or 176, I probably could have dropped 10 seconds from my splits and finished over a mihnute quicker. It still felt good, though.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, had water, Powerade, and a Cliff bar. Stretched a little bit.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Pacing.

Event comments:

Tough race with the big hill right in the middle plus some other testers thrown in over miles 6 and 7. The last 2 are pretty much downhill, though, so it lets you finish strong.

WOW! Great race Dennis! You'll have to pace me at a race in Austin. I'll run behind you making a buzzing sound.

Hope you didn't leave too much out on the course and are rested by next week.
