Anyone else have a LOUD TALKER near them at work? There's a woman here who, in my opinion, is not the brightest bulb and talks at top volume. Most commonly heard are:

"WEEEELLLLLL"

"I KNOW!"

"YAH" (Minnesotan for "yes").

I think I want to paper her cube with sayings like "indoor voice", "speak softly", and "no these cubes aren't soundproof". UGH! SO FREAKING ANNOYING!!!

thanks...

Slow inattentive walkers in airports, Costco, grocery stores, outside etc... I am aware of the people around me. I am aware that if I stop, I might be impeding the forward progress of somebody behind me. I am aware that if I get to the top or bottom of an escalator it is a better idea not to stop and gaze slack-jawed around as people pile up behind me. I am aware that airports are not museums to stagger around gazing at the fascinating - OH SO FASCINATING - departure lounge of American Airlines flight 722 to Tippecanoe, Indiana. Sometimes people need to get to their gate fast. I am aware that it is not polite to fart in a bottleneck of people going through a doorway.

If I am at a museum, I am aware that the semi-circle of people gazing at the van Gogh are not standing that distance away in order to allow you to slip in front of them.

Yes, my pet peeve is inattentive, inconsiderate, lobotomized, unhygeinic sloths who probably would only work with (rather than against) a crowd of people if it were an angry mob bearing pitchforks and torches.

zippydooda - 2005-11-17 3:48 PM I know you gotta eat, and maybe your face is shaped funny and you look gross when you eat, but you can't help that, can you? But please, PLEASE, chew with your mouth closed!!! Aggh. Oh AND, there is a proper way to hold a spoon/fork. If you are holding it like a garden trowel, get someone to help you. Otherwise people are going to think you're from Oklahoma, and nobody wants that...

my thoughts exactly.  It's a fork, not a shovel.  My mom used to smack us for that.

It bugs me when I see people riding bikes without helmets.  It especially bugs me when I see a family out riding and the kids have helmets and the parents don't.  Or the kids have their helmets on, but not buckled.

Followed closely by people who ride bikes the wrong way down the street, or on the sidewalk, while listening to music or talking on a cell phone.

Swear to you, I saw a man riding a bike, the wrong way, on the sidewalk, smoking a cigarette, without a helmet, holding a pair of crutched under his arm.  And here I am, I can barely take one hand off the handle bars to get a gel out and not crash into the gravel on the side of the road .... oh wait.  I DID do that.

The 50+ year old woman who goes through the express lane at the grocery store with the maximum number of items, stands there watching as the clerk scans her items, waits for the cashier to give her a total and then and only then does she pull out the big bag purse and start digging around for her freakin CHECK BOOK!  Why are there people who are still writing checks at the grocery store!  And further more, why must they wait to have a total before they can begin to write the check, much less pull the stupid thing out!

Also, generic businessman speak, really cold weather, really hot weather, getting sucked into BT threads, and people who go through life like they are starring in their own little movie.
