I will be filling out a race report soon but just thought I'd go ahead and ask those who raced to sound off...how was your expierence...stories...whatever.

My worst story to tell is that I got stopped by a train for about 3 min.  The group that I was riding with was riding an avg speed of 25-26 mph before we got stoped by the train.  We had 1 hour left to make platnium with only 23 miles left to go.  Once the train hit we all knew our chances were done for and the group avg. 21-22 mph the rest of the way to the finish.  I missed platnium by 9 minutes.

My wife's on a plane flying back from the ride as I write this. I didn't get a whole lot of details, but she was just ecstatic about it. Said it was awesome - they were flying along the course. I don't know how the levels work, but she made gold (with plenty to spare) and totally crushed her previous century bests.

I'm jealous. SOunds like an awesome ride. Too bad about the train for you. I look forward to reading your race report.

Hey Casey,

I rode the Tour de Tucson in 1997.  Still to this date one of my favorite events.  One small problem for me....I clipped a friends rear derailleur with my front wheel and face planted doing 25 MPH.  Skidded down the highway and almost got hit by a passing car.  Besides that I had a fantastic ride.  I might actually be back to do it again in 2006 with TNT (team in training).
