Do we have a lot of BTer’s in the Halifax area. I’m in Dartmouth myself.

Cheers.

Rice.

I'm not too far away....Yarmouth. Come to the city fairly often though. Used to live in both Halifax and Dartmouth.

From just outside Halifax - Enfield here.

I'm planning on starting to train hopefully in March, after I have knee surgery & recover.  Nice to see some locals!

Hey everyone... I'm actually on the other side of the world, but my family still lives in Lower Sackville.  I'm currently residing in Taiwan.  However, since Taiwan wasn't an option as a location, I went with good ole' NS.  Hopefully by next year, I'll be planning my trips home around race dates.

Hey all -

I'm in Bedford ... unfortunately this year's tri season is over (at least locally) so it's winter training and maintenance from here on out until 2011.  I am looking forward to some olympic triathlons around the province and one in PEI with my main race being the Timberman 1/2 IM in New Hampshire in August (anybody planning to do that one?).  Willing to catch up with anyone anytime they're interested in doing some training.  Best of luck to everyone with your training - hopefully we can all stay injury free!

I'm in Dartmouth also.  Near the top of Woodlawn.  I did a couple Triathlons in the mid 80's.  Sunday will be my first race since then.  Cool

Last entry is almost 3 years old, anyone still around? Did a few Duathlons in 2013 and now training for my first sprint Tri for 2014.

Good to hear, I'm sure we'll run into each other this summer then. Right now I haven't set my schedule but know for sure I'll be doing the Shearwater Sprint and it will be my first Tri. I'm also hoping to finish the season with an Olympic distance at the Shubie Tri in Sept. Having seen the dates yet but also hoping to do Brigetown sprint as it will be my goal to do the long course in 2015.

Cheers,

Claude

Good to hear. I plan on doing shearwater and Shubi, I did both last year. I'm doing Challange St. Andrews in NB, that will be my first 70.3. You should really consider the yarmouth Tri. It's a great course both sprint and Oly and a lot of great people involved. I also did Greenwood last year, that was a good event , but I'm not sure if the timing dill work out this year with my other races.

Hello all! I'm in Bedford right now and looking to start training to do my first tri sometime in the future. I started running a couple of years ago and did a 1/2 in Oak Harbor Washington in 2011. Got bit and have not been looking back! If anyone has some tips for me to start out with, I'd love to hear them!

Their are a few people from NS on here, but not many. Halifax has a great Triathlon Club, I see a lot of them at all the races I do, and the seem like a close knit group. If you can't find them online, Facebook, etc. try checking the shops like Cyclesmith, they will point you in the direction of some different groups that train together. Other then that, get on your bike and ride, get out and run, and get in a pool and swim. Then read read read the internet is full of good,... and bad info. Just because it works for someone else doesn't mean it will work for you. This site is a great resource of people who like to help others. There are some sites out there that are full of sarcastic know it alls, who are sarcastic as hell. Their is great info there but you have you be a lot more knowledgeable of who yo ignore. Enjoy the addiction. It's hard yo shake, and leg us know what races your doing, we may meet up some day!
