Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:30, downed a cinnamon raisin bagle w/ PB and 24oz of green gatorade. Showered, hopped in the car. Drank 20oz diet coke on the way to MARTA. Took MARTA to race site. Met up wit Team Amino Vita people.
Event warmup:

Ran an easy mile. Tried to stay warm. It was a little windy up on the bridge.
Run
  • 1h 49m 20s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 21s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran with Cathi, Team AV chick and TNT friend I met at Gulf Coast this year. She was trying to break !:50 and I was her pacer. I felt surprisingly good, despite the 11 day layoff and a bit of fever that cropped up yesterday. She ran quick like a bunny at the start, settled into a good pace and faded a bit on mile 11, but we picked it up the last two miles and she made her goal pretty easily, setting 5K and 10K PBs in the process.
What would you do differently?:

Not take 11 days off.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out in the TNT tent and stretched, enjoying the best space heater ever. Ran the mile easy to the MARTA station. Love mass-transit races.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I was a pacer, so fast wasn't the goal.

Event comments:

Love the Turkey Day half mary.

What fun....and you are a good friend to help someone reach their goal and beat their 5K, 10K and 1/2 Mary time in the process.

You are an awesome runner and a big supporter of others.

Congrats! Feel better!

Looked for you but wasn't surprised tht even BSM couldn't be picked out of a crowd of 7000+ (perhaps a cape would make it easier?). Tons of TNT'ers there and lots of smiling faces.

Is it starve a fever, feed a cold?  Hopefully it is the other way around so that you were able to enjoy turkey last night ...
