Subject: Nutrition for Post Late Night Training

I know there were a lot of people who posted to another thread that they train at night.  With our family scheudule that's about all I'm able to do.  Also am putting in about 45-48 hours per week at work.

I know nutrition and sleep play a vital role in keeping from wearing down.  We are working at getting our 1 year old to sleep through the night again, and have that to about 4 nights a week.  So a full nights sleep will return in time.

SO, onto nutrition.  After an evening trainer ride, I usually have a small glass of juice, or just finish the sports drink from the ride.  Then have a protien shake (about 20g) and a slice of bread (or two) with peanut butter.   After that I drink water (see the thread on peeing at night).

Am open to suggestions for late night post workout nutrition that may work better than what I'm doing now.

FIRE AWAY!!!   and Thank you.

It sounds pretty good to me, you're getting the protein in that you need and not eating so much that you're going to be overstuffed when you try to go to bed.

as long as it's working and you are getting the right 3:1 carb to protien ratio, then stick with it.  I'd keep the simple sugars as low as I can for the sake of recovery and being able to sleep.
