Anyone here a barefoot runner? From what I hear it supposed to be good for technique as well as easier on your body.
I first heard about it on one of these podcasts:

Sounds like a good yet very strange alternative to fancy and expensive running shoes. Not sure if I would do it my self, but it sounds interesting. Just wanted to know if anyone has tried it or does it.

i used to run barefoot on both grass/trails and some (but not much) concrete during the summers when i played football in HS. i really liked it back then, just preferred the wider options of running on concrete so i've been running in shoes for a while now.

for obvious reasons your footstrike is naturally more sprinter-like. this is O.K. but can kind of eat up your energy if you normally run heel to toe in shoes until you get used to it. honestly i don't know i'd reccomend it as a training method unless you're going to run barefoot in your tri's. i've thought much about running barefoot in a sprint tri, but i've not been racing long enough to give it a shot.

if my route was swept every hour and scoured for glass, rocks and sharp, pointy things, then I'd do it.

I'm just imagining potential for pain boardering on Chuck Norris levels

No barefoot running for me, my feet couldn't take it. There's a lady that runs Pike's Peak every year barefoot. Last two years it snowed, that's got to make the feet cold.
