All these new bikes, I just had to share. She finally made it yesterday and my LBS assembled and delivered today. It's St. Patty's Day but feels more like Valentines! Sch wing!

Old School:

Out with the Old

Gettin' with the times:

I didn't build her myself . . . maybe as I upgrade . . . but for now mail order works just fine.

I think I'll call her Lil' A.

She's a beauty! I bet you can't wait to get her out and see what she can do!

I do love the old bike too, though. It looks like something you might see on Antique Roadshow. Maybe it has some value.

Nice bike, but I'm wondering how you ever rode that "old school" bike if your new one is the right size. Looks like two bikes for two completely different people.

At any rate I hope you enjoy your new ride. I've heard lots of good things about them.

Yeah, I was surprised too at how small the new frame seemed. . . but it is a 61cm. I understand the bikes from the late 80s had much higher profiles . . . and I never noticed how huge those wheels are! The Bianchi was a buddy's who was 6'6" and I'm 6'3". It had been sitting in an basement for years. It was fine for my first race and to sit on the trainer . . . until now.

Dlaxman31 - 2006-03-17 8:59 PM nice ride how big is the old frame??

I'm not even sure how big that old frame is . . .

Just measured it . . . 68cm crank to stem shaft . . . WOW.

Looks like I've been riding a big *** bike! Ha! Hey it worked for my first race and a few months of training . . . and I still kind of dig riding it. It's like cruising in an SUV high above the traffic! I'm even kind of tempted to use the old one in this sprint next week . . .
