Im new to the board but myself and three friends from Orlando are traveling to Nashville for this race. We are doing almost ALL the Elite Racing Rock n Roll events this year and are very excited about Nashville. We would hate to miss a party, so keep us posted

I'll be there with friends and family in tow ...  I'd love to try and get together -- we'll have to see how things shake out!  Anyone know enough to recommend a place to meet?

ok folks, lots of places to choose from and one of the chrises or I could make reservations...there are a ton of great restaurants...some good pasta places...

another option is that I could either cook pasta and sauce myself..I promise I am good...and serve buffet style in warmer trays at the conference room in my office....it is a few blocks from start of race and close to hotels and dowtown and then we could have a big crowd and people don't have to worry about an exact time. (it is actually on old 3 story house renovated so has living room and stuff... (everyone then could just chip in like $5 each or somthing)

either way is good for me...I am taking the day before the race off...

so as we get closer think about it...

Renee...

How very very kind of you to offer to cook!! WOW!! That would be fantastic!! Count myself and 3 of my friends in. We don't know Nashville very well at all so this would be so nice to meet some folks from the board and have a great meal the night before

Thanks again !!!

Melissa from Orlando

sounds like a great idea! I've got family in Franklin, so there are a few of us (read about 6) that may be coming...

I get the feeling this is going to be a great race! I did the Virginia Beach last year and it was a blast. This one may be even better... although, finishing up on the beach with a beer is hard to beat.

If we agree to do at my place dowtown...I will have food and salad and dessert.

we have bottled water (or that big water jug thingie) and bunches of coffee...lets say if you want other beverage of any kind, bring it.

I will cook food at home but keep warm on sternos say like from 5:00 pm onward so folks can come by whenever they want..

I will have:

Ziti (plain with just sauce) and baked ziti (with ricotta/mozz), meatballs, sausage, pork ribs (makes a great sauce) bread and salad.

Maybe others can bring some cookies, brownies or whatever sugar they want.

We have plenty of paper products onsite too...

Address is

Hope Clinic for Women
1810 Hayes Street
Nashville TN 37203
my cell in case you get lost: 615-426-3061.

It is parallel to West End (where the race begins) and in between 18th and 19th street. It is in between Mambu Restaurant and DaVinci Pizza.

If you are coming off of Interstate 65 (coming north from Franklin) take the Broadway exit. Take left off the highway onto Broadway. Stay to the right and it will turn into West End. Take a right on 19th street. You will come to four way stop. You can see Hope Clinic on the right but if there is no parking on street go straight thru the stop sign and turn right into an alley (it is right before Royal Thai Express). My parking lot is the 3rd on the right...you will see a sign. Park there and just hit the buzzer downstairs and I will let you in. Go up one flight of stairs and down the hallway.

Don't worry we close at 2 pm on Friday so no one will be there but me..actually my business manager too b/c he is running the race too.

I am in the 13th coral officially but I want to run with the 5 hour (full marathon) pace group so will be looking for them.

we should meet early to hang out before race (if you take the shuttle there is lots of down time)

I will look for a good landmark for us to meet at.

plan for Friday is this:

Dinner available from 5 pm onward (try to show up between 5 and 7:30 pm) at my clinic...see previous post for address/directions. It is like 10 minutes from expo.

I am supplying pasta, meat and salad, water and coffee. It looks like others are bringing other beverages or desserts. If you want to chip in a few dollars for pasta dinner if you are not bringing anything that is fine.

I will have everything on sternos staying warm.

BUT A HEADCOUNT WILL HELP ME. I AM COOKING SAUCE AND MEAT TOMORROW SO NEED AN IDEA ON QUANTITY...JUST LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING WITH ANYONE INCLUDING CHILDREN.

615-426-3061. Call me with questions.

If you have a different idea, please tell me before I buy everything tomorrow.

I'll be there by myself.  Hoping to have a chance to bake some of my banana nut bread so that people can pick on it whenever.

I'm hoping to get into the expo between 3-4, if anybody would be interested in meeting up there first.  I'm driving in my Florida that morning.

I will be there, I will also have my sn with me due to time restraints of picking him up and getting him to a sitter before the 730 time frame runs out.

So count us both in...

CHRIS/REST OF YOU. Do NOT worry about time contraints. I really don't have any. I was just trying to give a ball park. I just didn't want people showing up at 9 pm for dinner. If we are hanging out all night I don't care...just depends on whether or not you will have to nuke dinner. There are couches...

also there is a TV/VCR and DVD player in the living room area so feel free to bring videos/dvds to keep the kids occupied.

DIRECTIONS FROM EXPO TO MY PLACE:

Convention Center is on Broadway street. (right off of Interstate 40/65). If you are trying to park for expo, number of parking lots or some park at Reneisance Hotel and it links across).

Take a right on Broadway, going away from downtown (Gaylord Entertainment is across street), going back towards Interstate 65 and 40. Cross over interstate. Stay to the right. Broadway vears to left, staying to the right will become West End (start of course). Take a right on 18th street. You will come to 4 way stop (Hayes street) my clinic is on right hand side but if you don't see outside parking, go straight thru 4 way stop. Take a right into an alley (right before the Royal Thai Express Red awning). You will see the back parking lot for HOPE CLINIC FOR WOMEN on the right. Park there and buzz at door and I will let you in (I may just prop the door).

Go up one flight of stairs, go straight down hallway, go to the left into the 'living room' and you will hear us.
