Subject: RE: How often should you get fitted on tri bike That's a good question. I got my bike re-fit today by a person who has a very good reputation here in Las Vegas. I got the feeling when we were going through it that he is very good at his trade. This was the first time I had it professional checked since late 2000, when I first got the bike. I was fitted then by one of the top bike coaches in Phonex at that time. fyi I was brand new to bikeing then. I am much more flexible now than I was then. Today he raised the seat almost an 1.5" and lowered the handlebars about 6 centimeters and moved the seat quite a bit forward. I was surprised that there was such a significant change made today. The only real change sinceI bought the bike were the Look Keo Pedals which replaced the traditional look pedals. One of the things that he said was your flexibility in your lower back/hamstrings will have an effect on how the bike should be set up. What I got out of that was as your flexibility in that area changes so does the optinal bike fit. I think I will have it checked again, probably a little sooner than 6 yerars. Good Luck! Jim |
