I set a goal of IM Korea(full length). Which means that i will have 4 months to train. Is this realistic?

What are some good books about training for triathlons?
What are some tips for purchasing a bike?

Thanks for any help.

Going long is a good book

16 weeks is very aggressive, especially since you don't have a bike, which I assume means you don't do much riding.

Hi, Very agressive plan, but do able depending on your present condition.

Swim can you you swim 1500 meters?
Bike can you ride 50 miles?
Run could you run 13 miles?

If you can say yes to all these then in 4 months you can probably make it.

Read the Triatheltes Bible

Go to a good tri bike shop and get fitted for a bike, the right bike for you might not be the right bike for me.

Get a plan from here or purchase one on line, MultiSport.com

Good luck

Pretty hard to say without knowing anything about your current level of conditioning. If you're a coach potato who doesn't get out much, it's not impossible, but not too likely without a high chance of injury. If you're fairly active and fit, then it'll hurt, but you should be able to finish.

My background is swimming.

So yes i can swim 1500 meters. I swim more than that every workout.

I haven't ran 13 miles in a while, but i'm pretty sure i can do it now, but would be hurting afterwards.

Cycle, i'm not sure. I have never had a nice road bike, only an old hand me down. But i am pretty confidant that i could do 50 miles on a new bike now, but again would be hurting.

I am pretty active and fit.

A serious challenge now is to get fitted for a good bike. I am in Korea and i do not speak Korean.

Thanks for your input.
